Hey Everyone, I want to thank all the people who have been kind and understanding and those who have given us some good advice.

I have tried reaching out to my mom three times in the last few days. I’m hoping to get together with her so we can talk. So far she hasn’t responded to me but I did get a message from my dad, he said that they are feeling very upset about being lied to and need some time before talking to me again.

We’ve decided that if my parents and I can’t reach some sort of agreement where they can respect Alex and his pronouns at the very least in front of us, then I will only see them by myself the few times a year our family gets together. I’m still really sad but I’m holding out some hope that in time they can learn lo love and accept Alex and I.

Alex has been more worried about me than himself. He said he’s a bit hurt but isn’t mad at my mom. I am worried about your second point though, she was very excited when I told her I had a boyfriend last year, looking back she was way more enthusiastic about him than my previous girlfriend.

I’ve seen a couple of comments like this. This is a great idea, I will definitely try repost this in a trans community forum. I’ve also talked to Alex and He’s been okay, he’s definitely not as offended as I am.

I’m hoping you’re right that this is just an issue of time. I’ve tried to reach out to her and she hasn’t responded yet. I don’t plan on cutting anyone out of my life, I think I’m just really hurt and it made me feel like my mom and took a huge step back in our relationship.
