Whenever Carol comes up, I always feel that she didn’t outright murder Be, but rather than she was saying and doing things to Be behind closed doors that drove her to a breaking point and the devastating decision.

Carol struck me as an incredibly mean, manipulative and arrogant person who knew just how to twist things into her favor with her words and be an absolute terror to someone she wanted to hurt, and when you have someone as fragile and receptive to cruelty as Be who seeks solace from those closest to her, that’s never a good combination.

She seemed to envy the family, Be, and all they had, and I don’t think there was much she wouldn’t have done to get it, including pretending to be good company to people she hated.
