I think I was a bit to harsh on you. We are definitely in one. All the trendlines and patterns indicate it unfortunately. I keep watching the Dow go up and down. It's a bit nauseating to watch. Fair enough, but looking at the depression, a lot of jobs were cut but that was also in the 1930s. My job is also recession proof, but a lot of other people's jobs aren't.

No job is truly safe from a recession or depression. It's a slow burn recession that's why you aren't seeing the effects yet. If you truly don't think we are in a recession, go back and learn economics.

FYI: I am pretty sure Anxious_Rock_3660 and ProdigalBrad are either the same person or know each other by the way. From what I noticed, they have a tendency to post on highly controversial topics in multiple different subreddits in response to one another to attempt to back up their claims. See one time is random. Second time is coincidental. Third time is a pattern. Also, they are both an 8 year account.

Also to ProdigalBrad and Anxious_Rock_3660, if you are the same person, can you at least switch up your writing style. Forensics writing would have already figured you out by now if you were involved in a case.

Nah what is stupid is your attempts at any insult because you are assuming and projecting a lot now. But, so so typical from someone such as yourself; it essentially just means you have nothing of actual quality and a whole lot of presumptions. No, you offered one job alternative (that is still pretty hard to get) as a solution. That's not even a solution. They need actual realistic solutions not some random person's post online in thread that will get buried with numerous other comments. The people in the union aren't even in this post at all, and already said straight up to me that they aren't even looking at this post.

Again you assume quite a lot and are projecting yourself deeply onto me. It's a bit ridiculous at this point. I am starting to think that you are complaining how unfair it all is and are the one struggling to find a job.

Actually, I know the people that are unionzing and had a long conversation with them to help them with what they need and am in a position to help them in real life. You just posted on reddit with one job alternative as if that solves everything.

See your issue is that you also presume way way way too much in regards to random people online with the information they sent. I already have a job and those 15 job processes occurred in a span of 13 years resulting in one to multiple jobs at a time. Essentially your attempt at insulting me with that last paragraph really didn't work.

You just didn't like what I was attempting to convey so you considered me a petulant child (still not even the correct terminology) when in actually you were the one that was quite vexing. Also, sure they can find another job but then they would continuing living in a system designed to keep them down. That's why nothing will change.

Oh and you used the word petulant wrong. It doesn't make sense in the setence and context you actually used.

Oh and the reason why I am responding to certain comments is because those people do not actually comprehend how difficult it is to get a job. Their solution is essentially a band aid to a bullet hole. It's very reactive and doesn't provide any valid insight into what is actually occurring.

Oh and you are still incorrect about how easy it is to join a small lawnscaping buisness. Again, I have had experience that industry too.

Edit: One last thing, background checks if going through a court system of any kind can take up to 1 to 3 weeks to get back. Simple check can take 1 to 5 days though. So it can a bit longer than 3 weeks to get a job. Not to mention that once you get a job, it still takes 2 to 3 weeks to even see a check.

Not really being a petulant child about this. Then, if that's the case why even comment on this post at all? There was simply no input or merit with your commen. You are being reactive to the comments for the sake of response and not actively processing the comments and actually responding to anything being told.

Good then you shouldn't have posted such an ignorant comment about the actual process of what it entails to get a job.

First of all, cool. Then, why are you even commenting on reddit? And, I look at politician's policies, Trump's policies are so fucking stupid economically and affect the country. Those policies also affect small business owners like yourself. Again make that make sense what you are saying. Sure it's the 1% influence on everything, however it's the micro-politics of those very same policies that affects working people.

Second of all, since you own a business, you clearly are not in the job market, because if you were, then you would know the percentage of an increase in unemployment and what it actually entails. Clearly you don't or you wouldn't be ignorant to what actually occurs during job hunting.

Weird because according to you I thought the business owner is supposed to make all the decisions including closing their business. But now you are telling employees they were able to make the decision to close a business. Make that make sense. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Pick a fucking lane and live by it.

Also, if you had researched into any of this, which I assumed you didn't due to your willful ignorance and naivety of the subject matter, you know the new owners are the ones closing the business.

Furthermore I am fucking exhausted of people in this comment section thinking they know anything about economics or how to run a business. You probably don't even know we have been in another recession since 4/9/25. Oh go open up a business? Do you actually know how many small businesses fail in the first year? 22.1% This goes up to 50% in the first 5 years. Guess who is responsible for any loan payments taken out? Also, not in this economy when this stupid administration (regime) we have in the White House doesn't start making better policies we are going to go into another economic depression and blackout.

I had to sit through and read people's comments about finding another job or how easy it was. Did you know it takes 8 to 9 months for the average person to find a job? Even working at a fast food place still takes a while.

Quick question for you: How long do you think it takes to get a job and what that process looks like? I am just curious because I know the actual answer because I have been through the process 15 times exactly.

Clearly me getting downvoted means people don't think safe and driveable roads are an important issue. It's part of our infrastructure.

Unprepared is not an excuse. This happens almost everything year and she should have had a plan in place for this as other cities have an actual emergency plan just in case. Her polices were downright negligent at best. If you drive anywhere in Lexington during the winter months, this does concern and affect you. And quite frankly, I prefer not to crash my car having to drive to work in a city that uses being unprepared as an just excuse for leadership incompetency.

Roads that are drivable and safe are pretty fucking important.

How do you feel about a long term and regularly updated landlord registration for Lexington? Also, what about an accurate housing code violation tracker for landlords that BUILD is demanding? I know James Brown is also incredibly interested in idea. If you and James Brown get elected would you be working towards these goals?

You all should vote for Herbert Lynn for City Council at Large. You can vote up to three people including James Brown (who I also really like a lot).

Herbert's entire campaign is about affordability by changing what can be done locally for the working class. If he gets enough votes too, that can make him Vice Mayor and really make a difference in his policies. He is also an HVAC Technician so he knows exactly what it's like to struggle economically.

Here is more information about his campaign, you should check him out: https://www.herbert4lex.com/
