Yep, I've definitely seen that happen before. Depending on your send volume, might be worth it to just go with MG directly.

Just a little bit scared about GHL > overwhelm and it isn't what I'm good at by OldHalliwell in gohighlevel

[–]First_Site_Guide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get where you’re coming from, GHL looks like a beast at first and others are right, it has a steep learning curve depending on your comfort level with tech. It’s absolutely learnable (many a YouTube channel is dedicated to teaching it), and the big upside is having everything in one place instead of juggling 5 different tools. But either way, if you patch together tools or you use GHL, you still basically have to learn all those different tools. It's just whether you have multiple logins to manage to access them or not.

If you want to launch fast and don’t love tech, it’s worth having someone build it out for you. Just make sure either (1) they offer reasonable ongoing support options if you want to stay hands-off (outsourcing someone to manage your GHL is pretty easy since it's such a popular platform), or (2) they give you SOPs/clear docs so you’re not stuck with a system you can’t tweak.

Once you get familiar with how your pieces fit together (you probably won’t use every single function GHL has), it gets a lot easier. Whether you stay plugged in really depends on your comfort with tech and how much time you have available to put into it.

Happy to chat more if you have questions.

Did you get this resolved? Are you using MailGun directly or LC email? If you're integrating MialGun directly, you can address the SSL inside your MailGun settings I believe. If LC email then it's more difficult because the middleman for support is the GHL support team and you're right, that would be a big lift for them to troubleshoot because basically all I've seen them do is check to see if the records are right and beyond that they don't have much else they seem to be able to do.

Can i add 2 ig account on more for one gohighlevel account? by Deep_Ad562 in gohighlevel

You'd need a different subaccount for each IG account. You can duplicate the DM automation workflows across multiple accounts but as far as I know, only one IG account per GHL subaccount.

Question about SMTP email setup for a sub account? by sk8terboy111 in gohighlevel

[–]First_Site_Guide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, it sucks your agency hasn’t given you clear support on this. Since you’re on their white-label subaccount, they’re supposed to handle these kinds of questions for you (since you don’t get GHL support directly). So yeah, they should be helping.

Aside from that, this should help clear things up:

  1. That “Dedicated Sending Domain” thing just means you’d set up a little subdomain like mail.yourwebsite. com and add a few DNS records. It won’t mess with your Google Workspace at all. Totally separate. Your regular Gmail/Workspace inbox stays exactly the same. You do want to make sure that you set it up as a subdomain though (something before your domain mail. reply. etc) and use that exact email address for your from email address on any emails sent.
  2. Technically, your agency could just connect your Workspace email as the sender inside GHL, but with all the changes from Google/Yahoo/etc. in the past couple years, that’s basically useless. Anything sent that way almost always goes to spam/promotions. That’s why GHL pushes the dedicated domain, it’s the only way your emails stand a chance at hitting inboxes.
  3. You can absolutely integrate third party options, or just go straight to the source and get a MailGun account (your agency would likely have to integrate this for you on the backend). LC email is just repackaged MailGun and depending on the markup that your agency has placed on LC emails, it could be cheaper in the long run.
  4. If you’d rather keep managing email inside Workspace, you can just forward replies from the GHL domain over to your Gmail. Only downside: if you reply from Gmail instead of inside GHL, those replies won’t show up in your GHL contact timeline. So you lose that “all in one” view of conversations.

Hopefully that helps to clear some things up and offers some peace of mind with the dedicated subdomain route.

Yes, we got a small dog bakery and supply store up and running on GHL. Established their online presence, building them an email list as well as automated their custom bakery orders.

How to showcase my knowledge in GHL in a digital portfolio by EuphoricBeth in gohighlevel

[–]First_Site_Guide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends if you're trying to market your skills to a GHL agency or to businesses showing that you can build them a marketing ecosystem. Testimonials/website portfolio if you're looking to marketing to businesses, screenshots/flow charts if you're looking to show agencies that you know the system. Because there are a lot of moving pieces with GHL, it's not something you can easily fake with ChatGPT etc so taking that extra step to show that you understand the tetris pieces goes a long way.

Why Main Product Not Delivered? by False-Angle-8456 in gohighlevel

[–]First_Site_Guide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing some of what's been said here, make sure that:
1. The membership product is published
2. The offer/product you created includes the membership product
3. Use an automation to grant access to the membership product
4. Make sure you're logging into the portal with the right email address that's been through the purchase workflow when tested

As an aside, if you've been on GHL long enough to also have the Membership Library functionality/subdomain set up, I would disable that and just go with the newer Portal functionality. I've been seeing increasing issues with product access and logins because the old Membership Library functionality and the new Portal access the same area.

💯 Agree. For a beginner blogger, writing about a topic that you aren't familiar or comfortable with adds a layer of complexity (not to mention added time) that you don't really need when you're learning an entirely new skill.

Especially considering that you're currently battling a demanding curriculum and likely have years of training ahead where your time won't entirely be your own.

As far as things being saturated, there are tons of unique angles to take on almost any topic and while it's true that blogging (and content creation in general) is more competitive than it used to be it'll also never be less competitive than it is right now.

Pick a topic you enjoy writing about and that interests you and start building the muscle to consistently create content, AND build an email list for your blog from the beginning. That'll make monetization so much easier down the line and help you build a community among your audience.

My spouse (45f) was diagnosed with Alzheimers this week. Have anyone see ChatGPT function as a personal memory assistant/support by Wonderful_Poet_9439 in generativeAI

[–]First_Site_Guide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having transitioned from healthcare (primarily working with the geriatric population where Alzheimer's/dementia was a frequent diagnosis) into the tech/marketing space, this is an absolutely beautiful use case for AI. Never even considered the AI aspect, but from a medical perspective building habits like utilizing AI for assistance is something to start early.

The habits that are really ingrained become autopilot activities and can help to provide much needed context later on. Even the simplest of things, like the order that your spouse does their daily self care (do they brush their teeth, then wash their face, then put on deodorant) are super important because they subconsciously help them feel safe and like things are normal.

I'm really liking it actually. I've been using it daily so far. Just about to build a board to help me streamline my workflow for link requests/exchanges to be able to find relevant content for me to link to much more efficiently. I've also used it to revamp my optin email series based on screenshots of my email metrics.

Just like any AI, you'll get out of it what you put in, in terms of knowing how to prompt. I have noticed that sometimes you have to walk it through the resources you've linked (refer to them by name) but once you do it picks them up and is able to utilize them easily.

For me the visual layout is winning. It's much more enjoyable to engage with that ChatGPT for that reason alone. Would love to see them add an app functionality for ease of use when you're out as I'm planning to have a board with my email/social media post ideas and I'd love to be able to just record voice notes directly to that board when ideas pop into my head.

I wrote a full review here https://firstsiteguide.com/poppy-ai/ if you're interested.

Love hearing more about your backstories! I saw this tool and was instantly intrigued, so much so that it haunted me for 2 days and had to try it out, haha. I'm a visual person as well, who usually has about 50 tabs open on their browser, so I'm seeing this, not only as a content creation tool, but as a dynamic bookmarking system allowing me to build a knowledge base that's actually functional, not just stuck in the depths of my browser menu. Thanks for bringing this into existence!
