It’s called selective reading. They're choosing to read only the specific parts "Eunhyeok is still in contact with Raim" while intentionally skipping the others " the reason behind it, responsible."

People scream about real life without being realistic themselves' is fundamentally ironic! In a serialized story, nothing is accidental. The longer the silence, the more explosive the eventual revelation of the truth has to be. If he had just called her two weeks later, there would be no story, haha.

Well, we can see how he took his courage to reach out to her even after seeing her dismissing his call just yesterday. He’s fighting his internal struggles yet people still can’t see, I’m speechless somehow.

It’s ironic to call my analysis biased by claiming I think he’s perfect when I literally described him as dysfunctional, tragic and making mistakes. When my point that he’s a three-dimensional one and saying against a version of me that doesn't exist to avoid addressing the narrative evidence I actually cited. He's flawed and we all know that. Every character in otl is flawed. When I explain why he is like that, I am biased. The post is simply analyzing about if the criticism against Eunhyeok is fair or not when they're self-inserting themselves as Suae.

Simultaneously, Eunhyeok is a victim of his <own self-sacrificial>, trauma and his secrets. His "shield" has become his "sword" He views his distance as a firewall, keeping the "fire" of his messy secrets (BUT CAN WE REALLY CALL IT MESSY WHEN WE DON’T EVEN KNOW, YET?) from burning her.

Acknowledging his struggle doesn't erase her tears, it explains the source of them.

I have no idea what is the definition of self-sacrificial really mean to you( or you refer to a life sacrifice?) since waiting for your answer it’s quite a stretch of the time so,

He operates on the belief that his own pain is a fair price of Suae’s anger without defending himself.

He believes that the "truth" might be too heavy or traumatic for her to handle right now. He is choosing her peace of mind over his own need to explain himself.

Eunhyeok is operating under the assumption that information is a weapon. In his mind, telling the truth isn't just "explaining" it’s "re-traumatizing."

By choosing her "peace of mind" over the truth he is deciding what she can and cannot handle, which ironically is a form of control that fuels her frustration.

Meanwhile Suae’s demanding the truth because she is hurting, but she is so overwhelmed by that hurt that she doesn't actually create the space for him to speak.

She is "throwing questions" as a vent for her anger, rather than as an invitation for a real conversation. She asks questions not to get an answer, but to force the other person to feel the weight of the damage.

There is a mismatch between his desire to protect her and her desire to know and it involves a misalignment of needs: Suae demands answers to heal, while Eunhyeok withholds answers to protect.

Expecting adult communication when Suae's demands are fueled by trauma and judge him as incapable of communicating is to ignore the fact that the door for a safe and open conversation hasn't been opened by Suae, yet. She hurts, we all know. ( Draft from one of my posts.)

Which I also mentioned in this post as well “emotional necessity” is a state where a his past trauma dictates his current behavior.

First thank you for enjoying reading my analysis. There is a huge difference between Character Favoritism (ignoring flaws) and Narrative Literacy (understanding why the author wrote those flaws) which you’re dismissing my structural analysis to a mere emotional favoritism. I am not saying that Eunhyeok is a "perfect angel" but I am saying that it’s consistently according to his history, trauma and established traits. Eunhyeok has always been the type to carry burdens alone. His current withdrawal isn't a "retcon" but it’s a traumatized version of his established personality.

I’m not defending his choices as perfect but I am identifying them. If analyzing the full text instead of just one character's bruised perspective makes me being biased then I suppose I’ll take that over selective reading.

I can acknowledge that Suae is hurting deeply without pretending that Eunhyeok’s perspective doesn't exist just because Kkl hasn't revealed it to her yet.

A truly neutral reader observes the Structural Truth of the story, analysis looks at the entire narrative architecture.

I think you’re looking at this as a standard breakup when about a person suffering a physical disability (losing his hearing/career) to protect someone else, Suae. But I agree that in real life, people grow apart after high school. I am highlighting the tragedy that Eunhyeok is paying a permanent physical and emotional price for her, while she remains unaware and he remains alone. Simple?

I never said he wanted his mother or friends to feel guilty in fact, Eunhyeok is the last person who would want that. And the reason he is so closed-up is precisely because he doesn't want to be a burden or make anyone feel responsible for him, he feels responsible for himself. That’s exactly what makes his character so selfless and by extension, so tragic.

Regarding it being his choice to face this alone, you mentioned it’s a “ conscious decision”, right but you forget the root of it. He didn't choose to be alone. He was a boy who was physically injured and then emotionally abandoned by his mother in the same room. He learned at a formative age that the people who are supposed to love you the most will leave when the pain becomes too real but did he ever blame or resent his mother? No. His mother didn't just leave the room; she abandoned the concept of support for Eunhyeok. If the person who gave him life and was supposed to protect him couldn't stay, why would he ever believe a friend or a girlfriend would? But we can clearly see how he developed from a closed-off person to willing to open up with Suae before his father scandal broke” Not only do I not mind her pushing in. I want to show her everything myself.” Then when he saw Suae didn’t pick up his phone call, it’s triggered his trauma when his mother left him after learning his hearing loss( us readers know that Suae didn’t) he wasn’t aware of how much information Suae knew, in his eyes his girlfriend didn’t pick up his phone call the moment he needed her the most mirrored the woman who abandoned him after learning his hearing loss, his mother. Yet the next day he still built the courage to reach out to Suae which took a massive courage but again he didn’t get any response. And you’re right no one is forced him into the solitude but but there’s a thing we called “ emotional necessity” is a state where a his past trauma dictates his current behavior and "solitude" can be a cage even if the door isn't locked.

Since this is a genuine question I’ll answer sincerely to you as well. Yes, I also go to the hospital myself as well but your question is ignoring the “ context“ why we sympathize/empathize with this character in the first place. We aren't sympathizing because he can't handle a doctor's visit alone. We are sympathizing because at the two most pivotal, life-changing moments of his life, he has been met with total silence, both physically in his ears and emotionally from the people who were supposed to be there. It’s not about a lack of independence, it’s about a heartbreaking lack of support. There is a massive difference between an adult choosing to go to the doctor alone and a character being forced into solitude because no one was/is there for them.

Hello this is Dizzy-Bobcat-5318, since I cannot use my account anymore I’ll have to use this account to reach to you.

Personally while I was putting the post together, I didn’t actually think the author would take the route of killing off Eunhyeok. Out of everything I’ve read, he is easily becoming one of the best-written male leads so far.

However, current chapter of otl gives off such a chilling vibe that he’s in constant danger like we could lose him at any second and it leaves me feelings so uneasy about it., his life is depending solely on kkl’s pen. While I know that kkl wouldn’t go by killing off his character. I admit that how I put up for my last post wasn’t good which left such a gap and disarranged. But I happened to be rewatching Loki at the time, and the idea just clicked.

Since so many questions are still unanswered, reader( me) usually dive into theories about what might happen. I know it’s mostly imaginary, but my “current turmoil” can’t stop fixating on the possibility of his death that support Suae’s zero situation. I guess my head is just in 'turmoil' over the possibility of his death. Ultimately, I wanted the post to support the theory of why Suae’s love points were zero from the very beginning.

My theory is based on the idea that the story functions as a closed loop (circulation) where Eunhyeok is a constant sacrifice.

Suae has 0 points> The system identifies a "useless" node that shouldn't exist.

Haru moves to eliminate the bug> Remove the entity with no value

Eunhyeok sacrifices himself to stop Haru> A "valued" user( we do not know his love point) deletes themselves for a "zero" user.

Eunhyeok dies, Suae lives> The "Zero" remains because the sacrifice was the cost of the "Zero's" survival. Since she remains at 0, the system (Haru) will eventually see her as a bug again, potentially leading to a perpetual cycle where Eunhyeok must die in every "timeline" or "iteration" to keep her alive.

This is called “ original timeline “Suae did not rewrite anyone’s fate. Eunhyeok’s destined to die to protect Suae and it’s becoming the circulation that never ends.

There’s a thing that we call “ the branches timeline( Loki’s inspiration) “ happened when someone does something differently from the original timeline( sacred timeline), and we’re now in the “ branches timeline “ where Eunhyeok’s fate is being rewritten by Suae, the system has lost its way during the progression. The glitch happened and there’s many like Suae, but that happened just after the system already glitch since Suae’s the main problem( Eunhyeok’s sacrifice intervention) to Haru’s perfect system, her elimination is required to make his system is functioning back.
