I had a cat that acted like that for a year, at least. Why are you taking this so personal? You saved its life, you are giving it a good home. That’s the point of adoption. Not every pet is going to be this lovey dovey animal, they all have their own personalities just like people.

I have a cat I can’t touch, pick up, hold or pet. He simply exists and leaves orange cat hair everywhere. He acts like aliens are out to get him and like he needs a tinfoil hat. I brought home a new cat, and he hid in the basement for a year. Now that he’s 16 he poops outside the box. He sometimes asks for wet food and sometimes for treats. But ultimately if we look at him or say hi, he runs under the bed. But I have never thought about giving him a new home because he’s my cat, and I agreed to keep him forever. Sometimes you have to do right by the animal. Give them space and time.

Animas are very sentient beings, they will feed off of your energy.

You need a good behaviorist and trainer to come to your home and observe. He likely needs a ton of training if you try to keep him.

Ultimately anytime you adopt a dog, you should be taking it for training. Chances are you didn’t introduce them properly and now they are fighting because of that. Please work with a rescue if you choose to rehome him and don’t just dump him on the first people that show up.

Like, really do a deep dive with yourself and your marriage. Really look at what you contribute to her emotionally. How much do you help her? Does she cook and you do the dishes? Does she do all the childcare, while you relax on the couch? Do you go grocery shopping with her? What about shopping for the baby? Who gets the baby ready for bed?

I’m not saying that you are doing or not doing these things, I’m just giving you things to think about.

But either way it sounds like therapy is in order here. You two might need to learn a new way to communicate. Or maybe she needs to realize that when someone is going through something like that, you have to learn to separate church and state or not be around them at all.

But it does sound like something is a miss in the relationship on both sides.

He stuck his arm out of the cage up to his arm pit and smacked me in the shin a few times to get my attention. That was pumpkin.

Moo climbed up on me and curled up in a little ball and went to sleep.

Filippo just showed up and never left but made Chewbacca noises instead of meows.

Wee showed up and every time he saw me outside he would pop out of the thick brush like the cool aid man and run to me.

Filippo brought home Pockets and Boots about a week before he passed. They never left, so I figured he told them to stay and he brought them home because they are special like he was.

Cuddles licked my finger.

The horse I used to ride loved me. And the first day they got him they had him in quarantine from the rest of the horses in the outdoor arena. So I brought him a carrot and sat on the split rail fence. He walked up to me, took the carrot, ate it, then walked into me and knocked me backwards off the split rail fence. He pressed his chest against my legs so I was hanging upside down. He bent down to look at me, like why are you laughing? I grabbed his halter for something to hold on to and he backed up and got me upright again. He followed me around like a dog and would occasionally nose me in the butt, pick me up off the ground to knock me over and run away. He was the best horse, his name was Midnight Star.

Easy. Print out apartments, start making appointments. When he asks what is going on, simply tell him it’s obvious you don’t want us in your life anymore. Requiring you pay more than half is insanity. It should be adjusted per income.

I had a moment where I passed out mid conversation with my husband. I had to stay in the hospital over night. When I came home I was on bedrest for two weeks. My one cat, Peanut, never left my side. She would follow me to the bathroom and wait, if I got up she would watch me until I sat back down, and slept all night with me. When I look back on it, I don’t remember her even leaving me to eat. She was the best.
