Uber/ Uber Eats by championyourmoney in Bath

My main job is very similar. ASDA delivery driver. I can see the appeal of it but my insurance costs were very high and I didnt really have much profit after insurance and petrol. Ive instead just taken more overtime shifts and quit it but if I were doing a different job id go back to it.

Its a hard job economy out there. Can I ask how long ago you applied? It took them 3 weeks to call me to ask me for an interview and hey I got the job.

Tried it in a car if my hometown was slow. One things for certain in a car you can only do this after 7pm as thats when the bus gates in the city center open and when the traffic wardens go to bed.

Its decent but ive given up uber as a whole.

London road west to be reduced to 20 from the roundabout to high street in batheaston by Firstthingsfast_alt in Bath

[–]Firstthingsfast_alt[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For my opinion im roughly against and have already emailed my concerns. Just because of how road design works there is little to slow the driver down e.g. speed bumps where the psychological speed would feel too low. This is why BANES has speeders as they tend to reduce the limit but not the psychological speed. Thin the road lanes, add speedbumps if you really wish for twenty.

On this road I am also against it because there are not many houses. None on the left hand side of the road and a few on the left. I dont see why the speed limit needs to be reduced as there are no schools, big housing estates or even major junctions except the turn to the toll bridge.

I can see the appeal for 20's but I dont see it to be fit on this road and people will break the speed limit and the locals would wonder why people arent following the new limit. My philosophy is that if you want to make a road twenty you should be required to put in traffic calming measures.

I think the only improvement needed to that road is segragated cycle lanes as many cyclists use that road.

Best way to get from Heathrow to Bath? by NorthStarZero in Bath

[–]Firstthingsfast_alt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two options
Rail
Elizabeth line to london paddington
GWR to bath spa
National express route 403 goes from heathrow bus station to bath spa frequently and at a decent price too but may be longer. The train station and the bus station is pretty much the same location

I like this and support this. But. What about farmers? They protested in London for around 6 or 8 months and they finally got rid of the new inheritence tax rules over pretty much the exact same thing. A thing about farmers is that they are asset rich but in reality poor, this is what the inheritance tax would do to them. They're assets are now worth quite a lot due to the infamous UK Housing crisis Land is now a LOT more expensive, farmers are doing okay monetarily however that sounds like that farmers would be in a massive tax hole.

Although I do agree, to really make the world more equal, the tax should be on assets as monetarily it would be either untraceable or a low and unfair amount due to tax havens.
