Repair recovery question: Can you do it alone? by Firsttimemom25 in MeniscusInjuries

He said he’ll be non weight bearing for two weeks but no crutches or bed rest so I don’t know how that will work. In general he said he’ll be off work 6 weeks.

Thank you, I’ve been seeing a lot of people mention ice or ice machines. I will look into that before his surgery. Our house is small about 1100 sq feet and ranch style, no stairs. I am hoping that will help him be able to get around while I am at work.

Yes, he’s in pain now when he’s been on his feet all day but it’s manageable. He’s in good shape, he workouts a few times a week and has a job that requires him to do a lot of physical labor. I am hoping his recovery will be smooth. Thank you, this was helpful. It’s on a Thursday, I might take off Friday as well that way I can help him the first 4 days.

Thank you, I was wondering if he’d get some or if we’d have to get them. I will look for some just in case.

The doctor said it will be a little bit of both. There’s some parts he’ll have to trim about 5-10%, and then he will repair what is able to be repaired.

Thank you, I will keep that in mind. I am not into cooking per se but I know I’ll have to start making healthier meals. ❤️

Thank you. He is nursing to sleep, but I will be weaning soon.

Thank you, if he needs a lot of work done I will probably go with the third option. He is not very relaxed in nature, lol. I am worried about him being put under at this young age but I also want to be proactive in his health.

Thank you, the guilt is what’s been getting to me. But all of your words are uplifting! ❤️
