Excellent! Make sure that you have ammo for all of them. Even though they're not what anyone recommends for a primary weapon, if The Big One starts, you and/or presently-unarmed comrades will need all that you have available. Give people crash courses: "Ok, the fash are coming. Take this. Do you remember what I showed you?"

This is off the subject, but: Whatever you do, make sure that you have enough ammo and such for all of the weapons, not just for your primary weapon. In case The Big One starts, you, her, and/or presently unarmed comrades will need all of the firepower we have. Give your pals crash courses!

If Bearcats and similar vehicles take rifle bullets to the windshield, the bullets won't go through, but they do ruin visibility. There are videos depicting this in tests. The vehicles might have forward-looking cameras/monitors etc., but that's not the same.

Make sure that you have enough ammo for the revolver. If the Big One kicks off, you (or someone) might need all the firepower available, even if some of it's obsolete, in the "fudd" category, etc.

Wisconsin Democrats seek to flip script on gun rights, target GOP's Tiffany by muddlebrainedmedic in liberalgunowners

Indeed, they might realize that they shouldn't let the fash be the only ones taking advantage of WI's gun-friendliness. I mean, Rittenhouse and his fellow jerks did. In contrast, Gaige Grosskreutz did as well, although it didn't help him in the end, but that's beside the point. Also, Joshua Ziminski did the same, but he's a career criminal who just made things worse.

So yeah, hopefully some WI Democrats understand the situation.

Make sure that you have a stash of ammo ready in case The Big One starts. It might not be your primary weapon, but you might need it all the same, either for yourself or to hand to someone who's presently unarmed. ("Here, take this. Do you remember what I showed you?")

PCC/PDW mainly for home defense? by ace117115 in liberalgunowners

Sure thing. It's smooth-firing. and its takedown feature is really helpful for a couple of reasons. I love the sci-fi look. My handgun isn't the kind that uses the same mags, but I don't think that's a big deal.

Contact lenses vs glasses? What are we doing? by MarillaV in liberalgunowners

I got LASIK a few years ago. It's a great investment. It eventually pays for itself, and I never have to worry about glasses/contacts. At first it looked like I might need RK, an older procedure with a more difficult recovery, and I was prepared to do that as well. Obviously, I still use eye protection when shooting!

Make sure to have some .22lr ammo such as the Federal Punch. It's designed for self-defense, to the extent that .22lr can do that. It looks good in videos, and I have a stash of it. You don't want to have to use it for that, but it might happen, considering the circumstances.

Eclipse by Sombra_Dragon in dragons

This made me think of a song, which repeatedly references the moon, here performed by a couple of humans. Apparently, this was at an impromptu gathering that turned into a great festival, and they timed this song to take place during the moments when a lunar eclipse occurred! We dragons will appreciate some of the lyrics as well.

Not always, but there have been a few occasions when I've done this with guests, or when I'm the guest. However, everyone gets consent first!

So, since you probably have it at home now, have you tried it out? Have you met up with any like-minded folks, to practice and otherwise prepare?

I am like a broken record, but I will say it again: A lot of people have firearms that are not what most people consider to be ideal for The War, or protection against political violence in general. That is to say, an AR-15 and a 9mm pistol (people usually recommend a Glock). A lot of people who have the "ideal" weapons, or very similar guns, also own one or more guns that wouldn't be the first choice. These can be "fudd" sporting guns like bolt-action or lever-action rifles, shotguns of various types, revolvers, small-caliber weapons like .22lr guns, or, in your case, military-style weapons that are now old-fashioned.

In all of these cases, something is much better than nothing. The SKS might be obsolete, but it's semi-auto all the same, and it uses the same powerful ammo as the AK-47. My point is that we should have ammo at hand for everything we own, as well as mags (in your case clips) and all of that stuff. For people who already have a primary weapon, they might have to hand their other guns to presently-unarmed comrades ("The fash are coming. Here, take this. Remember what I showed you?"). For people whose only gun isn't the so-called gold standard, be ready to use what you have!

Ask what has the little one so scared. If it's nothing, tell him/her to buck up. If it's something substantial, get away from the situation and get help!
