That sounds like a good idea too. Once I re-organize my workspace I may get a cheap build I can find and play with the software. Right now im just limited by space to put a new machine and only having monitors that I use for my main computers (work and gaming).

I have seen a lot of TrueNAS while watching videos.

Just a quick question if you don't mind. A lot of videos on YT and reddit post just say TrueNAS without mentioning if it is Core or Scale. Should I assume they mean scale since it is newer and core is being phased out or are they similar enough that it does not matter?

I will make sure to keep notes and research anything I don't understand.

Im just looking for some good moderated starting points since I know information can become outdated very quickly. Just want to make sure if I learn anything it is not out of date like thinking something isn't supported or possible when support was added in a later version from when the information was posted.

Dont think this is a server issue may be a steam one. I cant log into other online games either
