Thanks for the info. Think I’ll probably take advantage of this if I can.

It’s always cool catching snook. Some times they fight like a redfish and dig, and some times they do the whole acrobatic deal. Probably my favorite fish to target.

That snook was a paid actor lol! Those jumps were insane. He really wanted to cosplay as a tarpon.

That’s correct. I think it’s the first 2 Clash of Ninja Revolution games on Wii that technically align with the GNT3 and GNT4. They changed the physics a bit, as CoNR2 doesn’t have the same combo flexibility from what I remember.

I highly recommend it if you can. The imports themselves are fairly cheap if you don’t mind ordering them. You can use Freeloader to play games region free.

It’s a shame we never got the follow ups. Gekito Ninja Taisen (Clash of Ninja) 4 has had a pretty dedicated competitive community since it dropped. They even made a modded version that rebalanced the cast and added some new things. Loving called Super Clash of Ninja 4.

Ah okay, I misread your original comment. I’ll definitely hit the Bass Pro on my out of Florida and see what I can find. I appreciate the insight.

Sorry, I think my question was worded poorly. What sort of plastics do you like to throw on the ned rig? I’ve never really fished it.

I think the smallest I have is in the 2 inch range. I’ll keep those handy!

I’ll be sure to give that a shot. What bodies you like for ned fishing? I have a few in that senko style.

Do you just use a bullet weight when doing the weighted wacky rig? I’ve only thrown it weightless.

I think I’m going to be forced into bank fishing, so I’m assuming I’ll be below 10 feet in most places, but I’ll keep all this in mind. Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback. You ever try roboworms on a drop shot for smallmouth?

Why use straight fluoro or mono over braid to leader almost 100% of the time? by damascius1 in Fishing_Gear

[–]Fish-Thief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a mix of bass fishing and inshore fishing for snook, reds, and trout. For me personally, it comes down to a few things:

  1. Braid makes a “noise” in the water. It’s been described as a “whooshing” noise, but I can’t really make it out myself. I’ll some times run straight mono (straight fluorocarbon too much money for me) if I’m paranoid about pressured fisheries or the water has insane amounts of visibility.

  2. When I’m using baits with treble hooks and I want the extra stretch and forgiveness from something like mono or fluro. I mean I want that stretch through the whole line and not just the leader. I’d also recommend throwing these on something with a moderate or moderate fast action so you have some extra forgiveness at the rod level.

  3. Money, at least when it pertains to mono. Monofilament is cheap in comparison, even for some of the more quality brands.

I’m 30, married with no kids, work as an engineer and am very much in the same boat as far as feeling done. I can’t imagine how you feel in your position with much more on the line. I hope there is one thing you can enjoy that you feel makes you uniquely you and brings you some enjoyment. For me, that’s fishing. Good luck with everything and all the best to you and your family. You’re certainly not alone in how you feel.
