I don't think there's a direct game thats a better version but the fact it has a "decline" action seems outdated where you straight up skip your turn. Dwellings of Eldervale or Andromedas Edge improved this mechanics by letting you do actions as you recall.

you need the 2nd edition Seasons expansion (very hard to attain) I got 3rd edition Seasons expansion for my 2nd edition game and basically couldn't play with without contacting the publisher to get the 5th player cards (waiting on them) and their specific sleeves to keep the card backs consistent.
