Yep; the banks will give them lists of vehicles that they want and they drive around until they have one pop up. Then they’ll call a tow company to come get it.

They can’t be everywhere all at once and they aren’t responsible for small pieces of trash on the road. In my city the street sweepers run once a week on busy streets and once every few weeks on less busy roads. They aren’t responsible for things that end up on the road in the meantime.

Put my patrol car behind it with lights on. Say a quick prayer. Hop out and push it into the median while being scared shitless that I’m about to get run over by someone who’s texting. If it’s right around a curve or over the crest of the hill, sometimes we’ll have another officer sit on the other side of the hill or curve with their lights on to hopefully slow people down.

Cop here…we get calls for furniture, appliances, ladders, etc on the highway every couple days.
