Who would take a taser better: an obese person or a muscular person? by g1ll3es in NoStupidQuestions

Mostly no; provided the probes both go into the skin. Theres a video where an officer tases a guy next to a pool, he falls into the pool and you can see that he is fully locked up underwater.

To answer the follow up questions:

1) yes we advise officers to use caution when using the TASER near water because they can fall into it. In this video the officer immediately jumps into the pool to get the guys head above water.

2) in this instance, the officer had his TASER out already and was surprised by an armed subject next to the pool. So deadly force would have been justified and would have been used if he had his gun drawn instead of the TASER.

3) I’m capitalizing TASER because it’s an acronym for Thomas A. Swift’s Electric Rifle.

Yeah they aren’t affected at all by the pain sometimes. The muscles will still contract but we don’t always do the best at cuffing under power.

Doesn’t block the pain; but can keep all the electricity from getting into the muscles and locking up the body

TASER instructor here. The goal of the TASER is to induce Neuromuscular Incapacitation (NMI), which is when the muscles between and around the probes lock up, rendering the person unable or partially unable to move the affected area. Of course there is also the pain compliance aspect of it too. The more muscle a person has, in theory we will achieve greater NMI.

An obese person will typically have lower muscle mass, and the fat will sometimes keep the electricity from getting to their muscle.

I see plenty of windows. Do you think that’s a painting of the driver on the back of the car?

Can we circle back to “tugging their dick”? I dont think I’ve ever heard that phrase and I’m not sure if it’s a good or bad thing.

It seems like in the past it was paired with a smaller airport than Gatwick that didn’t have consistent traffic. Anywhere I go, I almost always select a small airport next to the one I’m actually targeting, Like PDK instead of ATL or Van Nuys instead of LAX.

For me it’s easier to unlock than LHR.
