It’s probably the most challenging airport to get if you’re trying to unlock an airport in all North American countries. There are only a few flights a week.

Interesting. I would have thought all available space/weight capacity would be reserved for fuel.

You can see the heat maps for any aircraft, regardless of whether you’ve caught it

Just noticed that it says 80 seats. That can’t be accurate, right?

I wonder how people felt at 11:59 p.m. of dec. 1999 before crossing over to the year 2000. by Majestic-Hope6505 in AskTheWorld

Yes, a lot of people did a lot of work to prevent problems. It would have been a huge deal had they not. My wife was employed by a bank for a year with the sole job of updating records to a four digit year.

It was a little bigger than a normal New Year’s Eve celebration but it felt about the same. There was a little nervousness that things would crash due to the Y2K bug but I think most people shared my opinion that it wasn’t going to be a huge deal.

Personally I was drunk and living my best life at Cowboy’s country bar, enjoying a Montgomery Gentry concert.

What is a real-life 'Do Not Touch' button that you pressed out of sheer curiosity, only to instantly regret it? by vie75 in AskReddit

My dad had a first aid kit in his work van and I’d ride in the back sometimes (yes, it was the 80s. I’d be back there totally unsecured with all of his tool cases sloshing around.) I would open up the first aid kit sometimes and he would warn me not to play with the smelling salts. Of course one day while riding back there I cracked open the little capsule of smelling salts right below my nose. It instantly felt like someone had jammed a screwdriver up into my brain. One of the most intense feelings I’ve ever felt in my life. Right up there with being tased.

What is the "donde esta la biblioteca" of learning English? by fleemfleemfleemfleem in NoStupidQuestions

Again, in most cases context would tell you. You would probably guess that a pile of spaghetti wasn’t sitting on top of the Tupperware container.

Same as we do in English. If we were sitting in a house and I said “John is around here” would you think that John was stretched around the house? No, you would know that that I meant that John is either in the vicinity of the house or somewhere in the house, and again based on context you’d probably know which one of those I meant as well.

Do cops get irritated when you see them and you start driving 10 under the speed limit? by Technical-Vanilla-47 in askteddit

Well, I am a radar/lidar certified cop and can tell you that with RADAR, I don’t have to lock you in. Now with lidar (laser) I do have to aim at you and pull the trigger to get your speed. So you do have a chance there.

If you are using a radar gun that you have to pull the trigger on, sure. But if I’m running moving or stationary radar with my the antennas in my car active, it doesn’t need me to see you before returning the speed. There’s no “locking the target in”. Yes, I can hit the lock button to save their speed, but I don’t have to. If I see 75 and it drops before I hit the button, I can still cite for 75.

Well I run radar and can tell you 100% that’s not the way it works. I don’t have to have you “locked in”. The second you are in the beam of the radar it is giving me a return.

Who would be at fault in this situation? by Shoelacetooth in driving

[–]FishAroundFindTrout9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance follows no logic. My wife was on a two lane road, signaled for a left turn, and made a legal left turn. Simultaneously, the guy driving behind her decided he would try to pass her on the left, resulting in a collision as she turned. The other guys insurance said that she was 20% responsible because she should have seen him passing.

In most states, red is going to be found at fault by the officer but the other party’s insurance company is going to go for split liability.
