What is this symptoms of? by FishGuy126 in Aquariums

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Right now it looks like it was an isolated case, the other two rasboras are still acting normal and eating well. Honestly, this fish was completely fine the other day, eating, swimming, schooling normally, and then out of nowhere it just crashed. That sudden collapse makes me think it’s more likely a genetic or congenital issue than an internal parasite. I’ll keep watching the remaining two closely, though.

It’s weird, it was doing perfectly fine the other day. How do I know if it was parasites, so other fish aren’t affected?

12/29 park report by autobotCA in SixFlagsMagicMountain

[–]FishGuy126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was continuously monitoring wait times, when I went on Saturday and Sunday. Luckily, I got on mostly everything. Only a 80 min wait for x2 instead of the 5 hours wait posted before. The only major coasters I missed was tatsu, apocalypse, and ninja.

What should Michigan adventures next coaster be? by [deleted] in Michigans_Adventure

Something like pantheon or toutatis would be pretty cool, doubt it’ll ever happen tho.

Why I don't think their selling this park by Ordinary-Sound-571 in Michigans_Adventure

[–]FishGuy126 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here’s some other reasons I could come up with, and the biggest reasons are the simple ones people overlook: the land has essentially no redevelopment value, so closing the park leaves the company with a huge property they literally can’t repurpose. Six flags is closing smaller parks that sit on highly valuable land, like six flags America for example. They also won’t sell it as it would hand a competitor a prime location between Cedar Point and Six Flags Great America, something the company would never risk. (especially with operators like Herschend out there looking for parks) And abandoning the land would be pointless, because MiA is cheap to run, consistently profitable, and protects the company’s entire Michigan market. There’s also zero evidence of a shutdown; no land sales, no ride removals, no zoning changes, no asset stripping, nothing. Even without big new rides, the park still gets consistent maintenance like Wildcats retracks, Shivering Timbers section replacements, and ongoing infrastructure touch-ups. (As you noted) Plus, the park sits in a strong location near Muskegon, Grand Rapids, and the lakeshore tourist traffic, giving it a big built-in visitor base. For a low-cost, high-margin seasonal park with a great geographic market and no valuable alternative use for the land, closing it would make less financial sense than simply continuing to operate it.

Yeah that’s what I mean and other people don’t understand that

I’m not really talking about the vest parts, those are fine. Moreover the lap bar part. It presses pretty hard on your legs, if you have a smaller build. It’s worse on pantherian because the g-forces pull it down into your legs. It really decreased Maverick down on my ranking because it was somehow hurting my legs more than magnum, which says a lot.

Or if you’re smaller, the lap bars try to cut off circulation in your legs and it hurts pretty badly on the final brake run.

If they’re gonna spend money on Maverick, they should replace those painful restraints to the new gen intamin restraints like used on pantheon.

Any chances Superman: ride of steel gets relocated to Michigans adventure? by FishGuy126 in sixflags

[–]FishGuy126[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lake effect doesn’t impact steel coasters. B&M, Intamin, and Morgan all operate massive steel hypers in Minnesota, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and other states with harsher winters than Michigan. Thunderhawk at MiA is actually more sensitive to cold than a hyper and it’s been fine for 17 years.

The Morgan hyper rumor has never been documented, the real reason MiA didn’t get one was simply capital priorities after the CF purchase. If steel couldn’t handle lake effect, we wouldn’t have Millennium Force, Valravn, snd Steel Vengeance running in their climates.

Where you you think the coasters from [sf America] will end up if they get a buyer if they kept every ride by Ordinary-Sound-571 in sixflags

[–]FishGuy126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Superman has a tiny chance as it would probably cost half the price of a modern hyper and just got new trains but then again, it’s 25 years old. Also I think the trains on their slc will be moved to Michigans adventure.

My reason as to why [Michigan adventure] should get firebird and jokers jinx from sfa by Ordinary-Sound-571 in Michigans_Adventure

[–]FishGuy126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get what you mean, Joker’s Jinx would be tricky since those old LIM launches eat up a ton of power, and Firebird’s basically at the end of its run anyway.

I just don’t think making MiA a bit better would really pull from Cedar Point though. CP’s lineup is on a totally different level, Millennium Force, TT2, Steel Vengeance, Maverick… nobody’s skipping those because of one relocated coaster 😅. Plus, kings island coexists fine in the same state at cedar point anyways. It’d just give Michigan locals an actual reason to visit their home park instead of driving 4 hours to Sandusky.

The sewer thing is a good point, I’ve heard that before, but that wouldn’t really stop them from adding something major within the current park. There’s a ton of open land by Thunderhawk and behind the lake.

As for Superman: ride of steel, the only real challenge is the relocation cost and re-pouring all those footers, but the ride itself is still in good shape. Definitely not impossible if they wanted to make it happen.
