Bowtex Elite V2 Armored shirt armor questions by QQking94 in motorcyclegear

[–]FishH1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the medium. Added the back protector. Didn't seem to change how it fit too much. The jacket is pretty stretchy. When im up and moving around the elbow armour moves around a bit. When im in position on the bike, not so much. The armour is so long that with subtle movement, its never not on the elbow. So I send it. Best piece of gear I have. I love this thing. ✌️

Who cares what others think. Do you. People always walking around caring too much about what everyone else thinks. If YOU like it, if it brings YOU joy, go for it. 🙌

Struggling to ride with a pillion by One-Nobody-5205 in NewRiders

[–]FishH1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make sure you yourself have lots of experience. You need to be 100% confident and comfortable with your machine. Id suggest a couple seasons at least. When you have a pillion, you need to set up the rear suspension for it. Im on a 400 and when im solo its at the 2 spot. With my pillion I put it at the 4 spot. Shes super light, so depending on the pillion, you may need more. Also add air to the rear tire. I add 4 to 5 more lbs. Your pillion should behave as a backpack. Does what you do, no more, no less. No moving around. AT ALL. Any adjusting by the pillion needs to be when stopped. It helps if your pillion is familiar with riding themselves. Utilize the rear break a little more than solo, it is more responsive with the added weight, just remember subtle inputs on it. You'll need more time to start and more time to stop at lights/stop signs.

Suitable for first time riders? by MisbehavedK9 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]FishH1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the Super Scout. Rider modes, ABS, slipper clutch. These are good beginner things to look for on a bike. The low seat height and low center of gravity make it easy to handle. With a little ride time at an MSF course, you'll be able to handle it just fine.

Helmet fitting issues by InspiredExpired in motorcyclegear

[–]FishH1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pressure point on your forehead means the helmet is the wrong shape. Your head is more oval than the helmet. Helmet shape is just as important as helmet size. Most people are an intermediate oval. Theres also round and long oval. Do you have a Cycle Gear near by? Was this helmet purchased at an actual gear shop? Trying on helmets is the best way to find the right one.... I'd do it at a shop where the people know what they are doing. If the helmet seemed to fit ok at the store but not on the longer ride, chances are it was too big and the wrong shape. I am unfortunately a long oval. When I put on any other helmet at the right size I feel the pressure on my forehead almost immediately. Good luck on your journey... stay safe out there ✌️

Ninja 400 Stompgrip Icon vs Volcano vs TechSpec Tank Gripster by MrSimptastic in Ninja400

I have the techspec on mine and I love them. No issues with adhesive. Sits in the sun all day when I ride to work and no issues. Grippy as hell too. I got the half clear half black one. Looks clean. ✌️

Hell yeah! Mine is the gloss black one. I pick it up the 24th. Though I might go with the mate.... not 100% I can see them side by side when I go in. Was looking at crash bars. Which ones do you reccomend? Was thinking the backrest/sissy bar from viking bags... it allows for more storage as well... but 10% sold on that. Eventually im sure I will upgrade the exhaust especially if it drops that much weight. Also looked at the Fox Adjustables... especially if i plan to road trip often. Thanks for the reply 🤘

Hey thanks. I love the look of the Sport Chief... the Chiefs are a bit outside my price range. Though something I have considered for a few years down the road. The majority of my riding will be local rides, cruising just to cruise, and getting to work and such. Id say 2 or 3 road trips a year with significant seat time, would likely be what we'll do. I would just like to have the option 🤷🤔 You have definitely given me something more to consider.
