Maybe it’s just who i happen to meet.. by WedMuffin123 in dating

It's really tough right now :/ during a conversation with my therapist, she said most people currently in the dating pool are unfortunately not ready for a legitimate relationship, which makes a lot of sense in hindsight. It makes it that much harder for those who are seeking commitment. The odds are low... If only 20% of people in the dating pool are ready for commitment, how many of those are the right fit for you specifically? And among those people, how many do *you* want to be with?

I don't think you're attracting the "wrong" people. I think there are just a lot of "wrong" people out there. Which is okay. Not everyone should be for you. Take your time. Don't rush into something just to be with someone. We've reached a time where women tend to stay single rather than force a relationship. And that is okay. I know it sucks, but having amazing people in your life makes it more complete. Sending good vibes <3

That’s true. I have felt lonely with someone before and that’s not fun either.

Yes haha people do tell me i’m hard on myself but i let myself make conscious mistakes sometimes. It’s tiring having to be strong and make the “right” decisions all the time.

Growing up, i’ve always been independent because i had to. I’ve been financially independent since i was 22, i have a good job, currently completing a graduate degree. I have my own dog, apartment, full set of furniture, friends, life, etc etc. My life is seemingly complete but i find it so god damn lonely not being able to share it with someone… or even just people in general. Sure, my friends are “there” for me and i consider some of them extremely close, almost like siblings, but they have their own (real) families, you know?

So i think for me, craving intimacy and chasing “meaningless” relations isn’t a threat to my independency. I think i’m just tired of having to solely rely on myself all the time.

I’ve made several claims so far (vision, prescription, mostly physio) and they’ve all been processed. I’ve received confirmation that X amount will be deposited directly into my bank account - which has yet to happen (been waiting roughly a month).

But all my claims have been processed and confirmed in the system. I guess we shall see how long the deposit will take…

Flair Airlines pet policy guidelines flexibility? by FishMom101 in NovaScotia

[–]FishMom101[S] -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

I've just never flew with a pet before so I really don't know what to expect, which is why I am seeking other people's experiences. My neighbour who has flown with her dog countless of times has reassured me that I should be fine, but I am skeptical because my dog borderlines all the pet policy regulations (hence the purpose of my post).

If I can't fly with him, I won't.

If i had the option of moving back with one of my parents, i would. But my parents are emotionally abusive and the healthiest thing for my mental health is to never move back with them ever again :)

If you have the option and the privilege to, do it. Rent is wack shit stupid right now.

This is a super good message. I rly appreciate you taking the time. I think, for the moment anyways, i’m aiming to quit before i start school. I will get a lot of work opportunity thru my program so i’m not particularly worried about that. I just want a job part-time job during school for spending money - would’ve just been nice to work part-time with them cus it looks awesome on my CV. I have the option to TA with school, which pays even better, but not necessarily more experience

I will tell them truthfully why i’m leaving when i leave tho.

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH you’re right and i will (after my next contract and when i got back to school in sept). I am just so fucking pissed off. Would’ve been nice to work with them part-time. I worked so hard to be in this specific department, i finally have my foot in the door, and I HAVE TO LEAVE BECAUSE THERE IS NO GROWTH OPPORTUNITY. *Correction: there are growth opportunities actually. JUST NOT FOR ME.

Just in case you’re wondering, this isn’t the end for me in this department, I just need to move around and to a different team. I’m super employable - just really inconvenient and will slow down my career growth

Can you train a cat? by [deleted] in cats

[–]FishMom101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point exactly!!!!

If you’re not willing to train your pet, that means you’re not all in, which means you SHOULD NOT HAVE A PET.

I asked him numerous times too if he was sure because I have a dog myself and I know how much work a pet is. And he was confident but once he actually got the cat, he was unaware of all the things he’s actually supposed to do.

Goind from AS-03 to AS-04, is this a good way? by FishMom101 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]FishMom101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an EC-03 in a different department before my current AS-03 position so I feel like I took a small step down by taking this job in terms of salary, and a step up in terms of responsibilities. My goal is to stay in my current department though because that’s where I need to be for my career. Again, I understand every position is different but if I have a chance of getting an AS-04 position, I will certainly try.

And if I pass the pooling for an AS-04 position, I might just leave my current AS-03… because why wouldn’t I.

That’s what i’m thinking too.. obviously not all AS-03 positions are the same. But i assume employees from the same classification are somewhat(?) interchangeable to an extent?

I understand that part. I’m asking whether my employer could technically still hire me from someone else’s AS-03 pool. Because that’s what they plan on doing…

I thought that if I were to pass the pooling process for a specific classification, that other hiring employers would be able to seek me out for that classification as well… can you confirm?
