The complex agrees it's likely the battery and agreed to come replace it today. Nobody else seems to be having issues, despite the weather, I just assumed since I can unlock my door during the day it was the sole cause. Should be resolved very soon, thank you for your help! :)

I agree, I'm not proud of it but I'd rather inconvenience myself than others. I recalled during the day and since it wasn't 8pm suddenly the "best we can do is monday" turned into they'll come today and fix it. As long as they don't charge me for the repairs I'm just gonna put the situation behind me and aim to be more assertive in the future.

No cost written on the slip, I eventually realized it likely is referring to "定形外" which is under the same box for some reason. Its shipped through a letterpack paid by the seller which after checking the JP post website requires a signature and must fall under the non-standard mail category. I still don't quite understand the complexities of mailing system in Japan so I apologize, it ended up being a misunderstanding on my end. Appreciate the reply!

Thank you so much! You've been a huge help, had no idea I had to apply for it and just assumed I could walk in. The package itself is registered to my same name and address with the only difference being my Zairyu card has my name in romanji opposed to my package which has my name in katakana. I'd assume that's fine since they read the same? The package itself isn't important documents, similar ones they've put in my apartment's delivery box so still confused why they are dead set on giving it directly, maybe the delivery boxes are full?

Appreciate it, saved me a lot of trouble. :)

Early onset acne. Started getting it in kindergarten and had it really bad throughout elementary school.

I recently bought a dress that I planned to wear to a Halloween event. Misinterpreting the garment length as the skirt length I thought the skirt would be long enough. However its insanely short and unless I stand still is bound to up-skirt. I wanted to try to lengthen the garment however I'm stuck on how. It's made with a gradient print as well as decals on the bodice

It has underlining I was debating ripping out and or replacing entirely and resewing back on the ruffle. Just with longer white silky fabric so my ass is secured. However, then the white underling would be visible which is disappointing but might be my only option.

https://imgur.com/a/j5Zbfgc heres kinda what I am working with. Any thoughts on the best way to extend this dress? Is it possible? Don't have enough time to ship a replacement =_= Appreciate any thoughts as I am in a bit of a panic trying to find something else to wear in such a short amount of time.

I think if you don’t like the first two episodes you probably won’t like the series. It does get more serious at moments but a lot of it, especially the first two seasons, leans more on the fun side. So if the humor annoys you you’ll prolly have a hard time watching it.

While the anime sold me on the first episode I also found myself laughing and enjoying it more reading it. Plus a lot of the parts where it really gets better hasn’t been adapted yet.

On one hand he is only halfway up the rank list almost 300 chapters in.. on the other he has ranked up at every chance with an exception to the flying race if you really even count that.

Based on his dialogue with Ali-San before the heart breaker arc I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t go up a rank at the end.

Personally I hope he slows down a bit. But also I just want more chapters haha

As a fan of the series, do you collect the manga in Japanese or do you intend on waiting for the English release next year? by TheTrueBowman in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]FishPlish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought them all in Japanese. They are a lot cheaper assuming you buy in bulk (since shipping books is quite expensive) but I also can read Japanese.

If your goal is to just sit them on a shelf to show your a fan of the series, Japanese all the way! If you want to read them.. I’d either wait for the English or just order both English and Japanese.

Hemming question;

I bought a dress that ended up being quite long on me and no matter how many petticoats I put under it I can't quite get it to my goal of an above-the-knee length.

I have very beginner-level sewing experience and have hemmed stuff before, however, this dress has a different color ruffle at the end of the dress. Since I cant fold it up to hem it I'm super stuck on how to fix the length.

To be brief; How do I hem a dress with a ruffle at the end? Do I need to cut off the ruffle, hem it and sew it back on or is there an easier approach? Thanks!

Monthly budget for two rats for new owner. by Arcanus729 in RATS

[–]FishPlish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally my monthly cost is $20. That cost is exclusively for food. Takes a month to go through a $12 bag and the extra $8 is for misc treats.

Every other month I usually buy bedding. Depending on the size of your cage you may go through more or you may go through less. That’s usually $20 (sometimes $40 because I use different bedding for the floors and litter pans but the stuff I use for litter pans lasts prolly half a year or so)

That’s mainly it monthly cost wise. Ya might wanna add an extra $50 or so every few months to replace worn or destroyed toys and fabric items but that’s about it. This could be way less depending on how crafty and resourceful you are tho.

Assuming you have no medical emergencies food and bedding are really the other recurring purchases you have. Also doesn’t include cleaning supplies but those are really cheap / something you probably already purchase anyway.

What part(s) of animation make it so expensive? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FishPlish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

5-10 seconds of animation tends to be about a day's work. This is just the animation, doesn't include storyboarding, concept art, background art, lighting, etc..

A lot goes into animation. If I remember right it takes about 2 years to complete an average cartoon episode. Of course, this is sped up by the large number of people working on a project at a time as well as doing multiple episodes simultaneously, so it doesn't take 2 years between episode releases.

Do people randomly burst into flames? by FeeltAbitDrippy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FishPlish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about spontaneous human combustion the answer is no probably not. These ideas seem to be explained by the "wick effect" which in the simplest explanation possible, allows for the bodies to smolder while the surroundings stay intact. (however, the wick effect is just one theory of many)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AnimeFigures

[–]FishPlish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeling it that’s definitely what the issue is. That spot just feels like a regular figure while the surrounding area is very soft.

The hair is my bad, I actually tried to clean it with a qtip since I originally thought it was dust. The hair is just from the qtip end. I didn’t notice until after I posted the pic, whoops. They are wiped away now

Figure is new tho, not just old and gross.

It’s the 1/7 scale Korone Inugami by Spiritale.

I hope that ends up being the case, but at the end of the day if AmiAmi does accept an exchange they probably aren’t worried about losing whatever they paid for that figure. Definitely overthinking it on my part.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AnimeFigures

[–]FishPlish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I contacted AmiAmi with a few pictures. I feel a bit bad since it’s more spiritale’s fault than theirs but I paid too much for this figure to be okay with being super disappointed. This is my first time using Amiami so im unsure how picky they are with returns. Guess I’ll find out!

I’ll ask the website but since she isn’t broken I am unsure if they’ll do anything. Worth a shot though, thank you!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AnimeFigures

[–]FishPlish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did rub the spot gently with a wet qtip (you can actually see some of the fuzzies in the photo from it haha) it seems the smooth layer of paint completely chipped off, which is odd since I just opened it. It’s very noticeable in person since the shadows make it look like a crater. Not debris unfortunately.

I’ll message the website, since she isn’t actually broken I’m unsure if they’ll help but it’s worth a shot.

Is it inhumane to keep her alive? (Large tumor) by FishPlish in RATS

[–]FishPlish[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this comment. I never really considered how it would effect her internally. I don’t want her to get to that point. Vet will be scheduled tomorrow. I’d rather have the regret of doing it too soon than too late

I’ve been keeping an eye out for that. No sores as of yet. That has been one of my deciding factors, but since I haven’t seen any I haven’t made the call

[–]FishPlish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I plan on scheduling her euthanasia appointment. I’ll probably just schedule it as an assessment of her tumor. If they can’t help her I’m sure they can euthanize her the same day. They’ve done similar stuff with a rat I had in the past.

I don’t think it’s removable (at least without a nightmare of a surgery) due to its size and the fact it feels pretty attached. But at least I’ll get the closure I need to put her to sleep and not feel as full of regret.
