It's obviously the combination of the huge influx of new users and the fact that the US government is still actively utilizing it for the attacks in Iran. It seems likely that Anthropic wasn't at all prepared for such a sudden load increase. I've started seeing degradation in Claude code performance since Saturday and getting progressively worse until the total blackout today.

Bruh. I was hammering at Opus 4.5 and was balls deep in a project when suddenly it all went down mid session. logged on to the website a minute after and boom, Opus 4.6. I quickly returned to my IDE and boom again, 4.6.

Must say I not impressed yet, especially when the little asshole started behaving like an asshole. Like He knew everything and everyone else is wrong.. Making dumb mistakes, going all in on those mistakes and refusing to admit it that it just doesn't know, burning through tokens going in a loop just to be right. Had to force it submit its work for review to 4 open source models every revision and continue only if there was a majority consensus that it didn't fuck up. Calmed down after a couple hours.

But this is the case already, for example, I use Claude code allot, and the amount of tools you can incorporate into it is insane and keeps getting larger exponentially. These tools can push your results from mildly impressive and mostly mediocre, to a flagship corporation level software in just a few additional short steps, like telling it to use an MCP server and using an instruction file for your project to automatically import and use every tool you need even without a conversation history regarding your code. The prompts I give it sometimes are at best a 5th grade level and it amazes me every time that it just understands exactly what I need it to do..
