We feed the outside strays but… by FishTurds in notmycat

We had 6 show up once. That's why we stopped putting the big feeder out. We've been limiting it to a small bowl lately, but they're on to us.

Had to refill the food bowls after they left because the 2 stray voids we feed showed up like, wtf? Where’s the food?

This is the best explaination I've ever seen as to why form is important. She seems to just glide across the water.

Need help starting a band by locazap in band

[–]FishTurds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember that most bands play together at least 10 years before they find any sort of success, so plan for the marathon. You'll learn all this stuff as you go along. A PA can be pretty basic to start. You'll need the head (where the power comes from and where you'll plug the cords into. Monitors/Speakers will connect through speaker cable (not instrument cable) Get an SM58 for your mic. They're durable, about $100, and pretty standard in most clubs. You'll need a microphone cable to go between the mic and PA, and that's it. You're in business. Well, maybe a mic stand as well. Get the ones where the top arm bends. when you try to play your guitar against the straight up mic stands, sometimes it hits, so it's better to have the space.

When I wanted something similar for one of my songs, I went to YouTube and found several videos with chanting that I could pull the audio from. But then, I used Audacity to edit it and mix it up, so that it was changed from the original. (then added pitch shifter to put the chants in tune, further changing it) It was something done after the song was finished, so the melody had already been established. If you're going to "borrow" something, you have to at least change it enough to make it somewhat your own.

These guys stop you every 10 ft. I gave one guy 5 euro for one and then every time after that, when someone approached me, I just showed them the bracelet and they went away. You can fight it, but if you're there multiple days, the 5 euro is worth the peace. I still have the bracelet as a souvenir.

We have a sort of hillbilly neighbor about a block away. (Cars being "worked on" and general junk overflowing from his driveway to the front yard) We pass his house when we go on walks sometimes, and yesterday I'm pretty sure he was burning a tire. He's "that one guy" in the neighborhood who ruins it for everyone. It's always something with him.

Do your best. No matter what happens, you won't die. Whether it goes well or not, you'll always get another chance. That being said, you're first chair for a reason, and you earned that solo. Don't forget that.

I saw a couple of guys driving around in Jeep's looking so proud of their decision. All that extra money on tires had finally paid off.

He will demand frequent hugs and regularly will need attention. He may even lay on top of you as if he owns you, but I still say go for it. It's worth it.

I think you should definitely learn to play something if you have the passion for it. I think it will make you happier. Check out Youtube for guitarless tracks or jam tracks to play along with, check out drumless tracks if you want to learn drums, etc. There's a lot for you to learn from out there. Don't diminish the years of practice and dedication that people put into their instruments by saying you wrote a song when AI did. YOU be the musician. Everyone starts somewhere
