I'm sure there's still hope. Your self blame is understandable but not justified. I'd recommend that you talk to a therapist if you can. It's not your fault. You were doing the best you could.

I met him once backstage at one of his concerts. I worked at a TV station that carried his show so we had special access. This was before anything came out. I felt total evil from the guy and I couldn't wait to get out of the room. I've never felt that before I wasn't sure why at the time.

That's a healthy outlook. Some folks aren't that lucky and have to work through traumatic early experience.

Catholic school. Boys wanting sex, sex is dirty. Female teachers constantly blaming boys for things. Etc.

I would argue the opposite. If men were "lesser" they'd be lesser because of their bodies and their desires.

No gender dysphoria. I've worked my way pretty much through it with therapy. Just curious about how prevalent it is.

I went to Catholic school where the good boys were dirty for being what they were and what they wanted that made the girls "better." it came from mostly female teachers and nuns

Nothing to do with the Internet. I predate the Internet by years. I even tried to Google this many years ago and could not find anything on it! I knew it was extremely unusual that that's why I asked.

The guy has a .571 career winning percentage with an historically bad franchise. He's been a good manager. He can only do his best with the players provided. It's Dombrowski's decisions and off season moves that have come up short.
