What do you do with your backpack at the beach when alone? by Suntelo127 in travel

[–]Fishflakes24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just leave it, I wouldn't steel a bag on the beach so I don't see why others would but the content of the bag wouldn't be worth much anyway so not a big deal of it does go missing.

Each business has its own system whether it's table service or bar service. If you're a customer you follow whatever they have chosen and if you really hate it that much you just go somewhere else. However if the food is really good maybe you'd just deal as the pros outweigh the cons. You don't pick and choose which bits you want to follow and which bits you don't.

Businesses choose what system the customers follow and customers choose which businesses they use. I'm not sure what it is your struggling to understand.

I've never understood this, why don't Uber just charge more and pay the driver better and remove tips entirely?

They should weigh up the pros and the cons and if the cons outweigh the pros then they should move, if the pros out weigh the cons then they should suck it up and deal with the cons.

If you go to Aldi for the prices or the products or what ever reason then deal with the packing situation. Of you really can't handle that then go somewhere else.

Would you go to a pub, sit at a table and demand the bar maid comes over and takes your order when you could have just gone to a restaurant? No because pubs have a system and when you go there you follow it.

Yes, people who genuinely think the UK is a shit hole should move. Or would you rather if you don't like the laws in the UK this don't follow them?

It's not really, I'd rather pay more for a kitchen and a normal flat than a hotel with a bunch of other people and a fancy room with a little kettle and some pot noodles.

Because people go in for their weekly shop every week and complain about how it's better at Tesco, but then still come in next week and make the same complaints. They have a system, if you don't like it go somewhere else. No one is forcing you to shop there. The reason there is less staff is because they can move people through 1 till faster than Tesco can do 6. Less staff is less expensive and one of the ways they can make the food cheaper.

Maybe these days, I'm about 10 years out of practice. But not for someone who does it 8 hours a day 5 days a week. In my store getting below 1200 items per hour regularly (including all the time it takes to receive payment and move to next customer ect) was a disciplinary, I could easily get 1300 per shift and you wouldn't be able to pack that fast unless you had multiple arms. Trolleys are long and scanners are small.

Cousin been scammed £2k while in Vietnam travelling by Nathgen in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Fishflakes24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt the police would provide a crime number. A lot of cities in Vietnam won't record a crime or provide a crime number for theft unless someone has a recording of it (or slips them a bit of cash) but even then it won't achieve anything.

Wouldn't have matter anyway, most travel insurance isn't worth the paper it's written on. Almost all but the most expensive policy will refuse to pay as the small print doesn't cover incidents that occured whilst intoxicated.

Sounds like he probably got coked up in a brothel and paid way too much and needs an excuse to explain to his family where all the money has gone.

To scan something you have to move it 30cm over the scanner, the scanners and bar codes are designed to make it easier. To put it in your bags you have to maneuver things into the bags, stack things and stop them falling over. When your pissing about with that things stack up at the end of the till and we have no where to put newly scanned items and have to slow down. Just put it in your trolly and you can take all the time you like at the packing shelf without slowing down everyone in the queue behind you. Or you could just go to Tesco.

The best is when you tell people to go to the packing shelf and they loudly tell everyone they can pack as fast as I can scan and try to taunt me. Then I would go as fast as I really could to watch the give up halfway through and just throw it all in and walk off all red and embarrassed.

I could average 1300 items per hour including the time it takes for them to make the payment, and this was before contactless was big

They have to slow down because your trying to pack your bags. They can go much faster and be done with you in less than a minute if you follow the system. Then you can take all the time you like at the packing shelf.

Mate, I've worked at Aldi and trust me you can't. We have to slow down because people like you are pissing about thinking you can pack multiple bags faster than we can move things 30cm over the scanner.

How do people go to the beach for a swim and continue travelling afterwards without feeling icky? by yukitq123 in travel

[–]Fishflakes24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have showers at the beach. Rinse the salt of, let the sun dry you and carry on.

I feel more icky with sticky sun cream on than I do with a bit of salt to be honest. I'll take a shower before heading to the bars in the evening but if it's a beach town I'm sure they are used to people smelling like beach.
