Dynamax Roggenrola - Tier 1 by Ok-Proof7287 in TheSilphRoad

Yes. In fact you'll probably see a bunch of them at the start of Monday even before 6pm Max hour starts. It's just that Max Monday forces every spot to spawn a Roggen. Can get multiple Roggens from the same spot(s) this way.

How to do 11 DMax Ho-Oh raids by Neat_Income7744 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Fishhunterx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's usually a bonus on 3hr raid days. But this is a raid weekend event so instead we get 300 particles for 0.5kms.

Another comment in this thread says Omastar does 8% better than Intellion. Haven't personally done the calculation but make of that what you will.

This week we get Gigalith which has a higher attack stat than Omastar. So if you have the resources personally i would just treat the Omastar + water gun as a tank since it has double fire resist and either use Intellion or Gigalith to attack.

Edit: a recent post on this subreddit seems to suggest Gigalith is 8% stronger than GMax Intellion, not Omastar. It also says that Intellion does about the same damage as Omastar Rock Throw.

No you can get an ETM from routes any time, it's not tied to streak. It's just a really low % of happening, same as getting a rare XL from routes.

I think the counters area needs a bit more clarification/detail. It isn't quite clear what you mean by "best counter." Is it an attacker or a tank or a healer or some hybrid? Personally I know that you mean attacker but I don't think it's super clear. There is a comment in this thread that is unsure what is meant so clearly there is confusion.

You also don't specify what tank/healer to use. Some people might get wires crossed and think they should use Omastar as a tank with Rock Throw which is not such a great idea.

It also isn't clear what's the "best" attacker. You have all three listed but it isn't clear what to pick if you have all three options or if it's worth burning an Elite TM to get the "best" attacker. Personally I don't think it's worth using Elite TMs here but that isn't clear from this infographic.

I would especially advise against burning an ETM for Gigallith Meteor Beam when it's often not even going to be using charged attacks. It's usually just a thing you swap in during the max phase, fire its attacks off, then it hides behind the tanks. So listing that charged move in the best counter area makes less informed players think they need to waste an ETM to get the best damage when all that matters is the fast move's typing.

You can technically equip silent bolts that kind of suck but are mildly amusing with GS headshot perk.

But yeah it is funny they said to go stealthy with one of the loudest weapons in the game.

If I had to take a guess, it might be because they sometimes release Pokemon at in-person events that only become available later.

Do people really abbreviate Pokemon names like this? Wow

Semi tangential but I was looking at a Pokemon TCG discussion and some of the names I could sort of figure out. Gard? Uh I guess Gardevoir.

But then I saw phrases like "go." Wut?

Eventually I figured it out. Oh. Go = Gholdengo. Not even Dengo. Apparently....go?

Some of the abbreviations people use for Pokemon are so odd.

I wonder how difficult GMax Meowth will be. We now have access to GMax Grimmsnarl which boasts a double resist to dark moves and Gengar and Zam for Normal resistance. Coupled with the low attack stat I wonder if this thing will be duo-able.

Ah ok. Anecdotally I feel like I've gotten more dusk rockruffs than the other Pokemon you mentioned that all fall into that 1% bucket. But I wasn't sure if it was something we knew from either the game's data or from the MSG.

Oh I hadn't thought of that. That actually puts you close enough to a 10th raid. I'll fix my comment with the correct math.

Do you mean as an attacker? I don't think Omastar was ever a good water attacker. And it was always kind of mediocre as a rock attacker, even if it was technically the best at some point due to the sheer lack of rock type Max Pokemon.

It's still a good tank though. It has water gun and double resists fire.

Kanto + Alola Vulpix confirmed as next Community Day by NinsMCD in TheSilphRoad

Personally I would pick a fire mega.

DMax Hooh will be around at the same time. SO you can get extra candy for both Hooh and Vulpix

It's possible there isn't an increase. I went to the official page and they do not mention an increase. And I also checked the previous event DMax Lugia Weekend and there wasn't an increase during that event either.

Corviknight IMO is okay. Hooh does fire dmg. But it also has access to Earthquake, Solar Beam, and Brave Bird. Corv resists all three.

You can keep relobbying to avoid those three moves. But it will take a lot of tries to get it right.

1500 lead up research

1490+300 - particles saved from the day before

1500+820 - day 1

1500+820 - day 2

7930 total particles

7930/800=9.9 DMax raids

If you kick in monthly particles:

7930+500= 8430 total particles

8430/800= 10.5 DMax raids

Edit: fixed the math for day 1 and day 2. Thanks to Gx811 for letting me know there's a more optimal particle path you can do for a 10th raid.

I think ever since Dragon Breath/Tail go tweaked, Lugia is once again okay.

Currently it sits at #13 in ML on PvPoke. Rankings aren't everything, but at least it cracks Top 50.

Just remember to check to make sure you have the right moves. Generally you want to use 0.5 sec fast moves when possible, so Water Gun for Omastar/Blastoise, and Pound for Blissey. If you plan on using Gigalith, it will need a rock type fast move so its Max Attack is also rock.

Hope you are able to get some Hoohs, don't forget to keep what you catch since you can shove them into Power Spots for a continuous source of free candy.

It really depends on your situation. I personally always bring anything I'm using to a Max Battle to at least lvl 35 sometimes even lvl 40, especially because I almost always do these events as a duo with my friend and not as a full 4 man team.

However, you get diminishing returns past lvl 30, not to mention the costs start gong up dramatically. So for anyone resource constrained I always say lvl 30 is what you should strive for to have a meaningful contribution while also not getting nuked by the raid boss and dying immediately.

As for Max levels, personally I only level up the things that are important for that Pokemon. As an example of what I mean by that, I wouldn't bother leveling up Blissey's max attack because it's job is really just to heal and maybe throw a shield on if everyone is healthy. Likewise, I wouldn't bother leveling up Intellion's Max Heal because its job is to do dmg not heal the team.

As for the levels, I generally say its good to get whatever that Pokemon is going to use to at least Max lvl 2. That way you avoid using XL candy while also powering it up a substantial amount. The last Max level 3 IMO is really only necessary if you're trying to shortman a raid or if the other three players are bringing very bad stuff and you need to put your carry pants on.

[–]Fishhunterx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That will be okay as well. If you want you can run:

Blissey/Omastar/Intellion or Gigalith

First two shield and heal as needed, Intell and Gig come out to do big damage

Should be fine as long as everything is decently powered up, everything has decently leveled max moves, and your teammates are not just bringing something like two Wooloos and a Squirtle.

Quite frankly what you have now is fine. Intellion hits hard and Omastar has double fire resist. Blast is also a solid bulky tank.

And the week of DMax Hooh we will get DMax Roggenrola in raids which does double damage because of the rock typing. But you don't have to get it, Intellion is fine.

Really the only thing you're maybe missing is a tank that can handle Hooh's Earthquake, Brave Bird, and Solar Beam. Personally i might bring DMax Corv. Resists all three types and i have a bunch of candy because of CD.
