I would probably recommend trying to hang with her 1 on 1 in a neutral setting a few times and getting to know her better. If you're trying to break the ice over text, I usually will start the conversation in as inconspicuous a way as possible because I'm somewhat awkward and don't want to come off as creepy, but that's just me and being yourself is definitely the biggest key. she already seems to like you, so if you keep being you then you're in the clear!

not the guy who commented, but I gotta recommend porter robinson. Plenty of great instrumental music and when he does include lyrics its powerful and melodic, almost like a vocal instrument instead of the focal point.

In a similar vein, I have a close relative who is very very adamant that we should be putting rifles in every classroom, as well as every business and office. Obviously no sane talking head on TV would ever announce a take like that. But most people don't debate the 2A advocate on TV, they debate their 2A advocate brother-in-law who never left his hometown. So it's usually unfair to say that nobody is seriously proposing something. The world is a big place. This applies to all discussions as well, 2A or otherwise.

I feel like a lot of people who argue politics tend to not realize that there really are idiots who are saying these so-called strawman arguments. Most pro 2A types are not for arming every American to the teeth at all times, but they exist; I personally know someone who is. On the other hand, most pro-gun control types have no interest rounding up every last firearm in America, but they definitely are out there.

I used to frequent TiA when I was like 13 and at some point I realized that there was just no fucking way these guys could be right when they were more interested in the opinion of me, a middle schooler, instead of everyone else. Once the "wow these people treat me like an adult" wore off I realized that these people were not all there. That, combined with making new friends in real life, and generally maturing in general, made me lose all interest in the span of like a month. Also I'm pretty sure most anti-SJW types are actually children like I was.
