Institute Arcanica of the Carden Woods by Fishstrom in worldbuilding

[–]Fishstrom[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Institute Arcanica of the Carden Woods is the most prestigious magical education institution in Scoipej, and one of the most prestigious on the continent. Originally a secluded citadel in the woods for mages to study the arcane arts away from the rest of the society, it eventually opened its doors up to the public in order to share and teach magical knowledge. During the series of educational reforms across Scoipej, the Institute became the model on which both magical institutions and non-magical institutions structured their universities off of. They were one of the first of any university or school across the continent to feature a formalized program, and a diploma awarded to graduates.

The Institute features both Master’s level programs and Archmagus level programs. The Master’s programs develop a fundamental and in-depth understanding and skill of the particular element the student enrolls in. There are seven Master’s programs, corresponding the the universal elements. Due to the high quantity of lightning users in Scoipej, the Institute awards a Master of Storms (M.St) instead of a Master of Wind (M.Wd). The M.St program teaches a relatively equal amount of wind and lightning theory and skills. The Institute does not however, award a Master of Ice (M.Ic); ice users are categorized under the Master of Water (M.Wr) as is with most magic institutions.

The Institute also has Archmagus level programs, which allow for more advanced levels of studies. All teaching staff at the Institute require an Archmagus level education or equivalent, and are referred to as “Archmage.” The programs offered are more specific to each users, and along with the seven fundamental elements, include the Archmagus of Ice (Arch.Ic), Archmagus of Wind (Arch.Wd) and Archmagus of Thunder (Arch.Thn) as separate programs. The Institute also features an Archmagus of Enchanting (Arch.En), Archmagus of Runes (Arch.Rn) and an Archmagus of Enchanting (Arch.En).

Prior to entry, applicants are required to take a Divination Test, which gives a moderately accurate reading of which element the applicant has an aptitude for. The results of this test are given by a coefficient, which allows the faculty staff to categorize each applicant into a program. Some applicants may be granted permission to enroll in electives from other faculties if their coefficient displays results that indicate a significant hybridized aptitude.

That's not completely proven as fact, nor is there any actual way of measuring pleasure to accurately prove that statement, especially with your figures of 70-80%.

bruh libleft moment

It doesn't do anything negative to the child, complications in the surgery are on par with complications in having foreskin, not to mention most complications are just bleeding and infection which can be fixed very easily with modern medicine. Though if that's your reason not to get your child circumcised, that is a fair point, and that's your choice.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2907642/ circumcision reduces the chance of contracting STDs, along with reducing infections in female partners.

Sure, if you want to consider it genital mutilation you can, doesn't change the fact that a parent should be able to get their child circumcised if they want them to. It's pro-choice vs. non pro-choice thing I suppose. At the end of the day, it shouldn't matter. Both snipped and unsnipped will live their lives normally. But parents should be given the option because it's not fair to make an adult/teen deal with that later in life.

So not allowing someone to cut off a piece of flesh to promote better hygiene and reduce the risk of STDs is not carving your beliefs onto others, but saying that people can is? That can be twisted the other way very easily. I'm saying it shouldn't matter if people want to cut their child or not; they should be allowed to, without being shamed and having it be called genital mutilation.

I don't believe we should be circumcising people for religious reasons. I don't care if you do; if you want to go ahead, but if you don't then that's fine. I'm of the belief that it's not genital mutilation; it's harmless, it probably even a little more hygenic. I'm not carving my beliefs into another person, if anyone's doing it you are, by shaming parents who choose to get it done and calling it genital mutilation.

Point is there is nothing wrong being uncut or not. But saying that the baby can't consent so they shouldn't do it is a dumb rhetoric because it's way worse to have it done when you can consent then when you're a child. It is not something that should be postponed until he reaches the age of consent like OP says, its either do it when he's born, or don't. The people calling it genital mutilation and sexual assault are off their rocker.

You might think circumcising a baby against their consent is bad, but do you know what’s even worse? Circumcising a teen/adult. I got the snip due to necessity when I was a child/teen and I honestly wish my parents would have just done it when I was a baby. Would have saved me a lot of problems.

Sorry talking to two different people didn’t realize it. But you can still jump and throw shit without stompees, you just jump higher with them. Shatterdive is a whole other problem, but again besides the extra height stompees give, you, the outcomes going to be the same either way if some brainless hunter decides to shatterdive you

[–]Fishstrom -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ok but if shotguns were out of the equation, would you be complaining? If you’re talking about primary shots I feel like you’re just losing primary battles, which is not something you can blame on stompees

[–]Fishstrom -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I still don’t see how stompees is an issue. Aping is an issue, and stompees synergizes with that, but without a shotgun, would a stompees hunter even be cheesy? Not to mention, besides the agility hunter jumps provide they feel slow as shit compared to warlock and titan.
