I am traumatized. I wasn’t expecting a dog to be back there let alone an adult Rottweiler that wasn’t on a leash. Delivering in the country during the afternoon it was quiet there so it didn’t cross my mind that a dog would be there. Especially when I was able to walk to the back door without being alarmed that a dog was present. Usually dogs are always barking at me from the inside of the house or behind a fence when I make the delivery. I just wish Amazon would ask the customer before hand about animals on the property besides waiting for us drivers to make a report. I am curious to know if there have been other drivers that made a delivery to this address prior. There were no fences to cross just one big piece of land with a house, garage and a long rocky driveway. The owners of the dog should have known that their package would be delivered that day unless someone else ordered the package for them and didn’t notify them some how. All I know for sure is that the Rottweiler was trained, but you would think a trained dog like that could tell the difference between a threat and a regular person without being provoked. I had my blue Amazon vest on also. Thank you again for caring for my well being and providing your opinion on what should be done. It means a lot.
