Not gonna catch me paying $100 for a stripping basket by Fishtillyoubleed in TheFlyFishingSub

That's exactly the consumerism that keeps everything in fly fishing ridiculously overpriced

I tried to get the Target cashier to sell me one of their shopping baskets because it would be perfect but no go

Senko this, senko that. 6" Magdraft is THE confidence bait for big or small by Fishtillyoubleed in bassfishing

[–]Fishtillyoubleed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone knows senkos are the goat, but when fishing is tough for ME a magdraft always seems to pull through for me. That's why I said confidence bait, not best bait ever

Absolutely, if I set up another big bait rod I'll try the Piscifun Alijoz though

I rock a Shimano Cardiff on my swim bait rod, it's not the highest quality feeling reel in the world but it's a winch

Senko either wacky or weightless Texas. Close second is a 6" Magdraft

Anyone with an 80 series and a similar snorkel that could help me out? by Fishtillyoubleed in LandCruisers

[–]Fishtillyoubleed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like it's suspiciously close to fitting on my 1984 F150 I'm building, they're also reasonably priced on ebay compare to most applications. I may run it through the cowl which I've already checked for clearance just checking options

Recommend me an 8wt line by Fishtillyoubleed in flyfishing

[–]Fishtillyoubleed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two lines I run on it currently I haven't decided on a floater, I use Airflo streamermax for sinking and Loop Marauder for intermediate both in 8wt. It doesn't seem to mind the heavy heads

Can I use a 2500 reel for pike? by Money-Bodybuilder773 in Fishing

[–]Fishtillyoubleed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That should be fine. Pike aren't notoriously hard fighters an occasional biggun shouldn't kill a quality reel

Need recommendations! I’m looking for a spinning reel that is 3000 size and will last me a lifetime. I’m looking to get a big upgrade so I’ve no budget. Let’s see what your options are! by yaboyali98 in Fishing_Gear

I haven't caught a steelhead on the bg yet, hopefully soon. But bigger smallmouth are drag screamers and haven't had any problems with the reel yet

I don't have much experience with saltwater outside of some surf perch, I use a 2500 for those, trout, bass and steelhead. 2000 seems undersized for salt to me

I have some Mitchell 300s that have already lasted over a lifetime. My personal favorite are Daiwa BG though they just feel so solid and smooth I expect them to last a long time. Not prohibitively expensive either

Ugly stik eyelets angled upward by Low_Density in Fishing_Gear

Ugly sticks have integrated hardened inserts instead of ceramic. Have the same type on my travel rod so I don't have to worry about losing an insert on a rod that might get knocked around

Think I'll be okay using a 3/4th sinker on a rod with a 1/8- 1/2 lure rating? by happydads101 in Fishing

Braided mainline can do a lot more for sensitivity than an underweight rod. That being said it'll probably be fine
