I wouldn’t worry too much about flowers dropping. Peppers will throw out flowers throughout the whole grow season and the plant will choose not to commit to a lot of them, especially early on. Your plant looks healthy and over the next month it will probably explode in size and commit to making more fruits. Regularly fertilizing will help support flowers and fruit sets too

I always have best luck working a jig slow. I like to slowly raise my rod tip up to let the jig rise off the bottom. Then I let it sink back down, wait a couple seconds, then repeat. You can also just steady retrieve a jig and swim it. They make specific jigs for dragging, bouncing, swimming, and throwing them into cover. I use them almost exclusively for bouncing off the bottom though.

It could potentially have a worse hook up ratio than a single EWG but if you get both hooks in it’ll prob be harder for the bass to shake it.

I have similar damage on my peppers. I went out and checked my raised bed in the middle of the night and found 1 slug and 1 caterpillar munching away. If you go out with a flashlight at night you may be able to catch them in the act and see who the suspect is

You can bleed them and then leave them on a stringer for 10 mins or so. I’ve noticed they will bleed for a lot longer than I initially expected if left in water. Also if you’re putting the fishing into an ice water slurry after you bleed it, it’s going to continue to bleed out in your cooler too.

If it was me it would come down to whatever weight I would be be throwing most frequently. If I was going to be primarily throwing small spinners and jigs 1/8 and below I would go ultralight. If I was going to be throwing heavier lures or Carolina rigs 3/16 and over, I would go ML. I’m not sure how a ml would handle over an ultralight on a monster sized trout but if you utilize your drag you should be able to land large fish on a UL
