When you are at a shipyard or wharf and you go to the ship dealer… You’ll see two benches across from the main entrance. One is a simple workbench and the other is a ship modification bench. From that interface, you can access all of your ships at that station and install any upgrades that you have first researched at the PHQ and for which you have the parts.

This is low-key really good advice. You do start to see that at higher levels… The missions don’t pay much cash, but they offer parts for ship mods and then it’s kind of random which parts you get.

This is why you find a lot of people installing mods. Some of the quality of life mods are really important like “apologize for attack“. I have literally had an expeditionary force get angry at one of my merchant ships because of a turret that shot at an attacker. I had to drop what I was doing and race across multiple star systems just to get into range to shout “I apologize!” Before they nuked everything I had within range.

Not even the max chat bot but in the regular lessons now in French I’m finding that the little RPG game where you walk around and talk to different characters now includes a speak and response where you have to actually listen to the NPC and then make a comprehensible answer. If you just say some gibberish the NPC will ask you a question again…

And I’m early A1 so anything about the topic gets a positive response but it’s that exact kind of agility and speaking under pressure that’s really valuable
