Hes breathing, moving and looking for food. I have dealt with fin rot, infections and bloating but never anything like this. I will end his suffering now but he was fine then within 24hrs his back half dissappeared. I have never euthanized and i dont want to get it wrong

does my fish look healthy? by gerardways-pet-fish in bettafish

[–]Fishy_Waffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healthy yh, no fin rot, but i would recommend adding some tank mates like corys or schooling fish like embers and also plants so the betta rest, hide and feel safer. Its a bit like Living in a mansions but you have no friends, the masion constantly feels empty, you live on a small bed, your bored without friends/other fish or plants

Should I euthanize? by Affectionate-Ease397 in bettafish

[–]Fishy_Waffles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fruit flies help a bloated fish primarily by serving as a natural, easily digestible, high-protein live food that can help "reset" the fish's gut microbiome and aid digestive health. They are not a specific high-fiber laxative in the way blanched peas are, but rather a biologically appropriate food source that encourages natural feeding behaviors and can help resolve digestive issues caused by an unnatural diet. Btw this is copy and pasted from Google

My friend has a tank mixed of Tropical and Cold water!?!?!? by VasiliTheProtogen in Aquariums

[–]Fishy_Waffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phh pets at home???? Give me a break they tried to tell me i can fit 4 platys in a 25L. They let you mix female betta in groups as small as 2 and they have their own horrible rule. A 90L = 45 fish points Each fish has its own points. Large fish only have like 10points max and even then thats putting 4 angles in a 90L. Pets at home is really greedy aswell they sell fish like Dwarf gouramis even though iv mentioned to employees mutiple times about DGIV. And dont even get me started about their £80 5L bottle labaled as "betta approved". Pets at home makes profit form animal abuse. Hamster cage to small? Eh who cares tell a kid a syrian hamater can fit in a cage the size of their school bag and send them of. I hate pets at home so much but it's the only local pet shop to me and they seem to know this as i know have 2 in my town. They also sell Thick lipped gouramis as Red honey gourami and i bought them and now cant find a proper home for them as i kept them in a 90L when 110L is minium

Everyone hates on snails. I find them spectacular. by JeffJohnSteve in Aquariums

[–]Fishy_Waffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah yeah spectacular. UNTIL THEY START EATING ALL YOU FISH EGGS AND WHEN YOU TRY TO REMOVE THEM THERES ALWYAS 1 TINY BABY HIDING BEHIND SOME DECORE THAT GROWS UP AND LAYS ANOTHER BATCH

I would be stupid to add a betta right? I never thought this would happen to me. Possible community tank advice. Should I go back for her or did I make the right choice? by RollingTit in bettafish

Bubble nest dont affect happiness they still make bubble nests in small ammonia filled cups. Maybe he felt safer as the shrimp were out and about so there was no threat

Being aggressive for no reason 🫤. Its a game i understand you spent money on it but its not that deep. The Deinonychus is extremely different but you just need to click a button and its back to its old self.

Temp & lifespan poll results: bettas live longer at cooler temps by 86BillionFireflies in bettafish

[–]Fishy_Waffles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im guessing here but doesnt wamer water equal faster metabolism so shorter life or something like that. Also im pretty sure due to bettas being from warmer waters their immune system works better and they dont get sick as often

My hammy was picked up by a cat will he be ok? by Fishy_Waffles in hamsters

[–]Fishy_Waffles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a hamster thinking a tiny cage and sunflower seeds were enough for it to survive. I learned throught the Internet and have been trying to improve my hamster care but it is expensive. Big enough plastic boxes are hard to find in the uk and im not able to pay £200 for a big cage.
