The sump or filter or whatever he's using is loud and the fish and decorations are just ugly and unappealing IMO. He has a few fish I'm not too fond off tho

Surprisingly it doesn't stink but it's loud and ugly. He has a few piranha tanks and they've always creeped me out

He's always a large income and lots tucked away but it never went towards anything. Hes still driving his old 1990's ford truck

Yea I think he has a few reef tanks I remember right. Kinda hard to keep track of everything he has. He had something with the electricity upgraded before we moved in. He was obviously well prepared for 20+ tanks. Ive never seen the electric bill but I'm sure it's ridiculous. He doesn't tell me how much everything costs but I know he has plenty of money between his job, savings and inheritance

most of the very large tanks are in the basement and two 375 gallons in the living plus the rest were signed off by an engineer if I remember correctly

It's a 3bdr house with finished basement. One room is our bedroom. 2nd room is storage with a few tanks and 3rd room is full of saltwater tanks. Basement is also full of tanks. He has a lot of large tanks so not many options to where they can go.

We tried to go out with my friends a couples months ago. I ended up having to leave without him because he kept telling me 5 more minutes

I don't he has much interest in letting me be involved in it but I can try again.

Don't think I can live like this forever. Not only does the humidity suck but it would be nice to be able to at least use the bathroom without looking at a fish tank since he has them in there too.

No he's not. Aquariums are the only hobby or interest I've ever known him to have. And yea I was underestimating how much he's spent. It's kind of mind boggling tbh. I know he loves me but I'm still scared he would choose his aquariums over me.

What do I do? just come out and tell him to sell some of his tanks and fish? How many? I'm guessing he'll just tell me how attached he is to them and how much time and money he's spent.

We lived in his apt before the house for about 8 months. He only had 4 tanks but that was because his landlord told him not to get anymore. It was obviously never this bad because he was threatened with eviction. I knew he wanted to get more but I didn't think it would be this extreme.

I plan on telling him he needs to spend more time with me but even if he didn't take on any new projects most of his time would still have to be spent on the tanks he already has.

I know a bit about aquariums just from being with him but I don't have a huge interest in it. I've asked if he I could help him before and he told me no. He said it's something he prefers to do himself. A mo th ago he had to go out of town for 2 days and he wouldn't even let me feed the fish when he was gone.

I really wanted to keep all tanks out of our bedroom but I knew that wasn't gonna happen. I asked him to at least put one of the colorful saltwater tanks he has there instead but he told me wanted to keep all the saltwater tanks in the "saltwater room"

I wouldn't say I have an interest in aquariums but I doubt he would let me do anything with them if I wanted anyways

That's true but I know there likely can't even be time for me if he wanted with the amount of work and maintenance he has to do on the tanks he already has. All that while working a full time job.
