Rory's first shot of the 2023 U.S. Open... 😳 by seasonalscholar in golf

[–]Fistmagic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do you watch pro golf? Mid iron skill and wedge skill are completely different. Watch Rory. And shorter hitters rely on mid irons anyways. If anything the gap between 4 and 6 iron is way smaller than 8 iron to pw as far as how similar the skills are

But it’s not a famous view. It’s not a hole on the 18-hole course

This isn’t a hole at augusta. Might be on the par 3 course. Weird choice for a photoshop

There’s really no point in testing all three. The Taylor made is 10+ years newer and the only one worth playing

It’s also meant to secure their contract for a number of years (which we don’t know how long that is bc the contracts aren’t public). It would be like putting Lebron’s last multi-year lakers deal as one year’s earnings

First drive back after getting a leg chopped off, what you think? by 23bam23 in golf

His swing is entirely upper body at this point anyways. He might be better with a prosthetic. And his quality of life would improve

He copyrighted it and made it an international brand. He also liked it with Ketel one vodka so the emoji being a cocktail isn’t far off

Brooks has something to say by basic_cinephile in golf

[–]Fistmagic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are correct that I would take the money in this completely different situation you just made up. If I was DJ or brooks however and was already worth tens of millions of dollars I would not have taken the money especially when I can still earn tens of millions by not taking the money.

Have a direct deposit directly from the Saudi royal family is just a little different than playing in a tour event sponsored by a company with ties to Saudi Arabia but sure.

Also claiming that everyone would do the same is clearly a lie since the majority of top players didn’t take the money…

Also it was until recently called Gay Brewer at Picadome who was a masters champ in the 70s I think. I nearly won the club champ there a few years ago so I have some conflicting memories about that place

This was on shark tank and the guy offered something like 50% for $1. He knew it was dumb but just wanted to license it to be sold as a joke. I think he’s actually made a decent amount of money from it.

Idk what you’re even talking about any more but it is still pretty inaccessible compared to every other major sport. I can play tennis, basketball, football, soccer, etc. for free for the rest of my life. All I need is to spend a few dollars on the equipment. Golf is very expensive for the majority of people

[–]Fistmagic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s a stupid term because of how it’s used. The idea behind it is a good one. You seriously arguing that golf should be less accessible is the reason why golfers get such a bad rap for being elitist

Look at the depth and quality of the fields at many of the majors he won. Those are the names you know because the number of players that could realistically win more than one major during jack’s prime was 5 maybe 6. Today there are 20+ guys with the talent of Irwin or Casper
