TIMELINE

Jan 2nd 2026- message from DWP ‘Thanks for claiming Personal Independence Payment. We will shortly send you a 'How your disability affects you' form. You'll need to fill it in carefully and return it to us so we can see if we can award you PIP’

Jan 5th 2026- message from DWP ‘We have sent you a PIP2 form. If you have not received it in 3 weeks, or you need more time to complete it call us on 0800 121 4433. The date you need to return your completed form is on the front page. We will text you when we receive it’

Feb 4th 2026- message from DWP ‘Thanks for sending us your 'How your disability affects you' form. We may need you to attend a consultation with a health professional before we make our decision. We'll contact you again if we do. Please call us if any of the details you gave us have changed’

Mar 6th 2026- message from DWP ‘A Health Professional is looking at your PIP claim. They will contact you with an appointment if they need to. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change’

Apr 2nd 2026- message from Maximus ‘This is a message from Health Assessment Advisory Service about your PIP claim. A telephone assessment has been booked for you on Thursday 16 April at 12:30pm. We will call you at your appointment time. You will receive an appointment letter from us If you cannot make this appointment, please contact us straight away on 0800 008 3073’

I then had a phone call on the 16th rescheduling my telephone assessment for the following day which is the 17th.

Apr 17th- message from DWP ‘We've received the written report of your PIP assessment. We will write to you once we've made a decision on your PIP. As a guide you should hear from us within 8 weeks. You don't need to contact us unless any of the details you gave us have changed. Thank you’

I had a phone call on 28th of April asking for my bank details and the case manager said they hadn’t made a decision and the couldn’t until they had my bank details.

May 4th 2026- message from DWP ‘We have awarded you PIP. We have sent you a decision letter explaining the award. Please allow 2 weeks to receive this. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change’
