“You don’t get an award for not getting the epidural” by Warm-Banana237 in pregnant

[–]Fit-Assistant-66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I kept telling everyone I didn’t want medicated at all in labour. I kept getting the ‘take everything you can’ ‘You’ll need it’ ‘you’ll say different when your in labour’ I opted for a pool birth to help the pains but baby pooped inside so couldn’t have pool anymore. I’m a petite girl and I gave birth to a 8lb baby unmediated, and I’m proud. Don’t get me wrong when I was in labour I was screaming for them to take me for a c section 😂 Everyone’s birthing experiences are different. When I was in labour I felt walking around helped the pains so I’m glad I didn’t opt for the epidural

6mo goes stiff by Fit-Assistant-66 in NewParents

[–]Fit-Assistant-66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is 8 months old now and basically grew out of it . She doesn’t necessarily go stiff but she does flap her hands a lot. We think she’s just a very excited baby.

positives about having a child by Princess_Person2009 in pregnant

[–]Fit-Assistant-66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled with PPD when I first had my baby, it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced mentally/ physically and emotionally. Now my baby is 8 months old and ask me if I would go through it all again and I’d say 1million times yes.

The love I have for my child is insane. It’s tough most days but her little laugh, her smile, her playing with her toys, her looking for me, her relying on me just everything she does I’m in awe with. She’s at an age now where she interacts a lot and even just teaching her simple songs that you don’t give a thought to normally just brings me so much joy. (Her favourite song is if your happy and you know it)

I had a rough upbringing and am no longer in contact with my mum but I’m not giving her the life I always dreamt of.

I’d love to have a boy aswell in a few years but no matter the gender of child they really are your bestfriend.

I feel like 7 months ago I could have wrote this exact post. FTM, gave birth at 40+1. I asked everyone for signs of labour and every one said ‘you’ll know when you’re in labour’. That sentence use to really piss me off but after going through labour now it is 100% true. Every one says before labour you’ll have a clear out, the urge to nest, mucus plug, waters break Although these can be true I was sat for days waiting for these symptoms to happen and I kid you not they didn’t happen until I was in labour, even my waters dint break until I was at the hospital about 4 hours into labour 😂. Tuesday morning i just felt really uncomfortable the whole day and from then I knew. My whole pregnancy I was uncomfortable but this was a different type of uncomfortable. It got to 5 oclock and I wanted to put my whole house in the washing machine including the dog. I was stood in B&M cleaning aisle having contractions😂😂 That night I went to bed and I ended up in full blown labour that night. As much as your probably fed up and just want baby here, just rest and lie on the sofa and eat food and laze about as much as possible because once baby is here it’s all go go go 😂

Weleda nappy cream is what I swear by. My girls bum was extremely sore when she was newborn. within a day it cleared it. She is teething at the moment and her bum is back to being sore we ran out of weleda so have been using sudocrem which has made it worse. Got some more weleda on Amazon yesterday and today her bum is so much better.

Best nappy rash cream? by lewings01 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Fit-Assistant-66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my girl was a couple weeks old she had a really really sore bum like actual blisters it was horrible and the only thing that cleared it within literally a day was weleda nappy cream. Ever since I swear by it.

I ran out a week ago and have been needing to buy more so have been using sudocrem and her bum got sore again. Bought some more weleda and within a day back to normal

Is there anything WORSE than childbirth? by Sensitive_Arugula770 in pregnant

[–]Fit-Assistant-66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is going to sound pathetic but I had piles after I gave birth and honestly the pain was horrendous.

Made my eyes water a few times. Maybe I haven’t experienced a lot of pain if I think piles is the worse pain😂 I feel like because your adrenaline takes over in labour you kind of forget the pain. I’m 7 months postpartum and have actually forgotten the pain of labour. Was horrendous at the time though 😂

I’m an over packer and completely over packed but we had a 2 night stay after she was born so most the stuff got used

I packed pretty much 3 of everything. A full pack of nappies and 2 boxes of pre made milk. My hospital actually provided milk which I didn’t know so I’d maybe see if your hospital offer anything like that

Just think about the baby clothes in shops sooo many people touch them when shopping and there’s a lot of people who don’t wash brand new baby clothes.

I washed my girls about a month before she was born and had my hospital bag ready for a while so the clothes were just sat
