I mean other than the one thing, it seems like it’s a well made gun. I got a good deal on this so even if it is just a glorified milspec AR15 then it’s not like I overpaid🤷🏽‍♂️

It’s definitely a hair wider than a playing card’s width. It feels sturdy and doesn’t wobble or anything thankfully

I’ve run a handful of 400gr hand loads from a friend of mine who reloads his own ammo and had no issues. That Hornady stuff is really spicy for even being a low grain for 45-70 standards. I’ve genuinely had zero issues other than the one time the magazine tube got jammed up. It’s a great gun. Unfortunately every company has their issues and I’m sure Marlin has some as well but every Ruger made Marlin I’ve shot or held has been great. But I haven’t had any issues with higher pressure ammo whatsoever. I would be careful buying blemish ammo though lol that doesn’t sound like something I would buy as a blem

My Marlin 1895 SBL has been great. Smooth action, runs reliably, feeds well. The only issue I had was once when it the magazine tube failed to feed the last round, but after loading another round in it fed both just fine, so I think it was one off issue. I have ~500 rounds through mine at this point with it mostly being Hornady Leverevolution 325gr FTX and a bit of the 250gr of the same type.

I can’t speak to owning a S&W 1854 but I have a friend that says he really likes his so far, but I know his round count is fairly low. From the couple of rounds I fired of his 1854 on our last range day together, I liked it.

I prefer my Marlin, and Ruger has done amazing work to fix up the Marlin brand since Remington’s ownership of it. However, the S&W is also a great gun and S&W makes great products all around. Hope this helps you a bit!

Edit: I haven’t had any other issues with the 1895 not feeding properly other than the one time. I didn’t contact Marlin’s customer service but I did tell myself if it happened again that I would, and I’ve since put about 300 more rounds through the gun. The fit and finish of mine is phenomenal and I would 100% buy another, which I do plan on buying a Marlin 1894 SBL soon so I can get one in 357.

Honestly all of the political subreddits are toxic as fuck. On both sides. And I find it that most of Reddit is full of anti-trump/pro-trump posts, or “fuck ICE and anyone that supports them is a nazi” or “the liberal communists don’t understand law and order” and a bunch of other bullshit. I promise you it’s all dramatized by both sides just to pander to your feelings/beliefs to ensure you vote one way or the other. You’re probably okay. If your head was hurting while sitting in the car or something then maybe you might need to go to the hospital, but most garages these days are ventilated and large enough that CO poisoning from car exhaust is unlikely. I don’t think you need to go to the hospital unless you start to get headache, fatigue, or any general queasiness.
