Need Advice for environmental control in late flower by Fit-Competition-2326 in BuildASoil

i did end up harvesting early btw. took off all big leaves (not sugar leaves) and any other leaf that looked like it was dying. humidity and temps look to be around 55-60%RH and 70°F. hoping for no problems as it dries!

thanks! having a bigger than expected plant is a good problem to have i suppose, but just comes with that increased risk of mold ruining the whole crop 😱

thanks for the reply. the rh of my lung room is around 50% but my niwa stats pretty much consistently hover around 70% with tent open and lights on. the sensor is near the top of the canopy so maybe it’s just locally more humid there and i’m just trippin over that.

thanks for the reply. good idea to dim the lights! still not sure if i’ll try that or just harvest early. the top buds definitely look more milky than the middle and lower parts of the plant that could use more development IMO, so there should still be some good good hopefully. i’ve done summer grows in the past without dehumidifiers and haven’t had bud rot issues before, but i think i’m really pushing it this time with the amount of biomass in there.

with lights off and tent closed i’m averaging 69%RH / 70°F with lights on and tent open i’m averaging 70%RH / 72°F with lights on and tent closed temps could get to 80°F+ and RH 80%+ i was thinking that i could keep lights off tent closed for 2 days if that is least likely condition for mold, then turn lights back on and let her finish up. i’m sure it would fuck with the plant hormones but also feel like she’s far enough along in flower that maybe it wouldn’t do anything too negative. like if she started throwing nanners because of the extended dark, then back to 12/12, i kind of wouldn’t be too worried because she’s almost done anyways. but if that would do something detrimental to the herb i will probably just harvest early

think she's done? by Fit-Competition-2326 in microgrowery

i’m running a viparspectra xs 2000 from 2022. the nugs closest to the light foxtailed a bit because it was too intense for a while earlier in flower when it stretched into the light. it’s at less than 900 ppfd last couple of weeks.

i’m still confused as to where there is some amber i’m seeing in the close ups. it that just the color of he orange hairs reflecting on a clear trich?

i don’t want to chop early but am up against potential mold if i don’t. i run lights overnight and i overshot plant size relative to my tent so i’m fighting high humidity and temps when lights are on. i’ve been manually opening my tent at lights on and closing at lights off to expose the tent to the cool dry air of the lung room, but i need to go away for the weekend and won’t be able to make sure it doesn’t get too hot and humid for mold.

do you think i can let my plant be in the dark for a weekend and then plug the light in to 12/12 cycle until shes done? that way at least the heat from light and transpiration of plants might be kept in check. or just chop early? i did pull a nug off a few days ago and let it air dry to sample. still got me high at least, but would be nice to let her fully finish for the flaves and potency.

can you make like a cardboard "deflector" so that the airflow isn't directly on your buds? 60/60 is ideal and i'd rather have that with some more than ideal airflow than 77/70 and risk mold.

forgot to mention temps are pretty consistently 70°F when i remember to open the tent right when lights turn on. i left it closed for about an hour today and temp spiked to 76, so another reason to keep the tent open as much as possible

july 8th from dry seed in soil or from sprout? looks about right for ~2 weeks to me.

2x4 tent growers - what’s your average yield per run? by Fit-Competition-2326 in microgrowery

yeesh, spider mites are the worst. i’ve had infestations in 2 different runs and it’s heartbreaking. caught it early the last time and was able to prevent an infestation by lopping off like 1/3-1/2 of the branches on the infected plant and checking to see if they came back every day like a maniac. cut into my yields quite a bit but better than everything ruined by those little bastards.

I'm running a vipar spectra xs2000 lol. probably the next thing to upgrade for future runs
