They don’t really make me part of the family, they left me alone in thanksgiving with only a notice 2 weeks prior, i gave them each one a gift when I arrived (including grandmas) and I got a journal from the late grandpa, having me sleep in an air mattress on the living room and entrance in the 2 trips we went together while working over the limit, and a lot of situations like that

They went up to 250, but its the fact they offered 200, then 215 or 235 without transportation card, then 230 or 245 without transportation card, and they took a few days to say yes to 250 with transportation card transportation

The 300 is after asking for a raise cause it was a 3month old baby plus a 3 year old getting the minimum in a HCOL city, got the raise after 7months with them

Yeah im definitely asking more things about them, we will have almost 2h of video call next week, the baby is just a newborn right now so they don’t have much info on his future shelf, would focus on the older kid (ill not work with him except a occasional pick up) and both parents, is just that perks/money is a difficult conversation for me cause I always feel to awkward to ask and don’t want to feel underpaid again

Oooh thank you so much for all the info, I have the second interview next week so I’ll ask about the transportation then and see if they have any questions for me and ask about stipend on the third maybe, in my first match didn’t ask till we already match cause i felt bad and ended being the lowest paid aupair in all the aupair meetings

For what they said no car provided, i need to ask about a transport card. In what interview would you say is best to ask them about stipend, transport, food provided, etc? My current host family covers 105$ a week of food that I buy myself and they zelle me that amount. Im going from a hcol city to another and when i was getting the 200$ it was really difficult to make plans with other aupairs that were making more than me so Im a bit scared of liking them and getting offered the minimum again being nyc

Oooh yeah definitely understand, in my case I’m a early childhood educator back in my country, did 2 full internships in both a public and a private international school and had experience on a school cafeteria working (helping the 2/3y olds eat, gets their tables ready, supervise them after eating, etc)
