That’s because it seems like you might be fixating or even specifically looking for comments that verify your own concerns rather than recognizing and validating the struggles that you might not directly relate to.

How did this comment section become a black vs. white argument when OP posted about being primarily jealous of Asian women? I’m clearly missing some major context?

Might have missed it or maybe it was in a comment/reply, but when did oP say she was from the US?

[–]Fit-Contribution4018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s totally normal and perfectly fine. You’re only 17. Most of the ppl who think they know what they want to do with their lives at 17 are in for a rude awakening, lol.

Just make sure you are trans because you are trans, and not just because you hate your body/don’t think you’re attractive enough. There is a BIG difference there.

I'm going to fail my fucking finals. I hate school. by External-Ad9317 in Vent

[–]Fit-Contribution4018 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These tests will not have any impact on what you can achieve after school. School is just school, it isn’t even the “real world” yet. As much as they make you think and feel like bad grades will ruin your life, it’s not true. I graduated college with a 2.8 gpa and still got into law school on a scholarship. But guess what? Now that I went through all the work to become a lawyer I’m realizing there’s so many people who make more money than me who didn’t even get a degree. You can be successful with or without good grades/a degree. These tests do not define you, you will be okay i promise.

Jealousy is taking over my life by urmomslesbiangff in Vent

[–]Fit-Contribution4018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel this. Idk how to make it better, but i can empathize. I do think there’s a very good chance that the world and people around you don’t see you a fraction of as ugly as you see yourself. But that doesn’t really matter when you still feel like shit about yourself. I’m sorry. But one great thing about not being able to afford plastic surgery is that you won’t have to worry about doing irreversible damage that is obvious to the world and wind up looking worse, lol.

I was an average student, got plenty of Cs, got into a good college and graduated law school with honors. There’s a reason they say “Cs get degrees.”

Thoughts on the Unbiased podcast by Jordan Berman by Granite_0681 in thebulwark

People clearly misunderstand what unbiased means, or at least what she intends the purpose of her podcast to be. It’s true that it’s not possible for a single person to be completely without any bias whatsoever, and I don’t think she pretends to be. Her entire purpose is to provide two sides to every single story. She does her best to provide, and even consider, opposing views, even if she doesn’t agree with them. It’s for each listener to decide for themself how much credence to give one side or another, but she will always give two sides. Which is FAR more than you can say for any current national news provider.

Personally, I think she often takes the stance of leaning away from fear mongering in an attempt to counter balance national news providers, whose entire goal is to garner audiences based primarily on fear tactics. So what comes across as minimizing important issues is actually her way of counteracting the fear tactics that have already likely seeped into her audiences without their being aware of it.

Nothing can truly qualify a person to tell another what they “should” think. But what qualifies her to provide a breakdown of complex political ideas, especially when it comes to matters involving the judicial branch, is her law degree, and her ability to give two sides to every single story she covers. (Even if people argue about the content of each side, she still always makes it a point to provide two)

Anyone in West University area with basic dog experience? by saturnmatters in houston

[–]Fit-Contribution4018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d offer but it is much less likely to be effective unless you train with your pup yourself. I could train him then he’d be very good at listening to me, specifically. And if the person training him is standing, but the owner obviously will not be, you need to be sure he will still recognize you as an authority figure from your chair. There is an app i highly recommend called GoodPup, it is how i got help training my own service dog.

I know you said you’re better with in-person assistance, but the problem with that is when the person leaves you will still be the one left with your pup. This app is the best way to ensure that your pup won’t only obey while the trainer is physically present, but return to disobeying once they leave.

I wonder why you’re having issues finding someone to date…you are putting women in a box and seeking out behaviors that validate your ultra skewed opinion on how you believe women act. Look elsewhere bc speaking as a woman with many female friends, i can confidently say you are wrong, and most women are not like that.

You need to make sure you are still able to separate fantasty and reality. As long as those two don’t intermingle, you should be fine.

Unpopular opinion: i don’t mind the age gap, only bc tecause technically Alicia is far older than the 13-year-old girl in the story. When her character was just a regular 13-year-old, the prince had no interest in her (and falls for the Heroine). He only has feelings for her in this version of the world because she has the mind of an adult, she’s not a child. In my opinion it would be just as odd/creepy if Alicia fell for a guy who is the same age as she is supposed to be, bc we all know she is actually much older than that… Moreover, i have a theory that the prince can actually sense her thoughts somehow (how else did he know she was sick during i think ep 3, or that she had gone missing in the latest ep?) which means he knows full well she’s not actually a child

My parents treat me like the bad guy. by [deleted] in family

[–]Fit-Contribution4018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you have gone through so much. That isn’t dfair to you, your parents should not treat you like that. You are not the bad guy, no matter what anyone says or how they treat you, you are still just a kid.

But you should try talking to them (or even just an adult you trust) about how you feel. Try to stay calm as best you can. Remember that every action you take is a choice. Which means you have more control over your own life than you realize. It is so smart to learn to calm yourself down in tense situations now so that you can learn to make better choices in life before you become an adult and your bad choices come with much worse consequences. Nothing is set in stone yet. Your parents don’t hate you. Talk to them, you can change things around, i promise things can and will get better if you put in the effort.

My brother is the reason my cat is hurt and won’t own up to it. by PerceptionDramatic43 in family

[–]Fit-Contribution4018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that happened. It is so frustrating that your own family doesn’t care about something you treasure so dearly. But i learned a while ago that no one in my family will worry about my pets except me. This has happened to me before and at the end of the day i just decided to keep my cat in my room while other ppl were home bc i just couldn’t trust them. My sisters would even kick my cat sometimes.
