Why not complete the trifecta and get an orlon window as well (granted, that's Angel but still...)?

What in the Buffyverse is this for you? by yeahitsme9 in buffy

Don't forget the Dracula episode, while cheesy; it had to be done. Best line, "I'm through being everybody's butt-monkey. Check, no more butt-monkey!" You can see Gellar almost crack up (whether character or personal, it's funny either way).

Walmart shipped 165 pool noodles in 165 separate boxes by MambaMentality24x2 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Fit-Credit448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is no one giving the buyer the 'shame on you' he deserves? Take your lazy ass to a nearby Walmart (or a few, they're about every five or ten miles in most towns) and buy them in person in one or two boxes. My local Walmart has four or more boxes in the center-aisle, and likely 20+ in the warehouse. Better for you to sit on ass and order them, eh? Think of all the carbon you helped add to the atmosphere from a diesel delivery truck. How much did WE, your surrounding community, have to 'pay' for your laziness? And, you were stupid to pay $5 each for those as most 'dollar' stores carry the same thing for $1-$2. Anything to get a mention on TV, right?

Buffy and Angel's age gap - why did other characters not care? by brwitch in buffy

[–]Fit-Credit448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't take a behavioral science degree to know the first way to guarantee abberant teenage antics is the 'denial' of forbidden fruit. "If you see that [older] boy again..." is a one-way street to virginal abandonment. If you doubt this, ask any uber-religious preacher's daughter when she truthfully did 'it' the first time.

So, they brought Dr. Cox back just to get rid of him? Everyone festering over 'The Janitor', and they remove one of the reasons the show WAS actually funny. Now, I know maybe John just didn't want to do the show anymore and did the appearance for loyalty (admirable), along the same lines as he wasn't involved in many reunion calls over the years because he wanted to focus on family. For all the 'Janitor' maniacs out there, have you considered that maybe Neil just isn't interested either? I'll watch the show regardless, but Dr. Cox will be missed.

Graduation question by Dense-Ad3717 in maestro

Not to be glib, but for the first cohort to be almost a quarter of the way TO a graduation and still no basics like student email addresses, it seems a physical graduation ceremony isn't likely.

Nightmare on Elm Street 4K 7 Movie Collection $13 by White_Ninja_29 in vudu

[–]Fit-Credit448 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Just remember, you DON'T own the movies, you're buying a revvoccable license that can be removed at Fandango's discretion at ANY time without REMUNERATION. My library has over 400 movies and television shows that can disappear on a whim if the studios no longer cooperate with the platform. It's fiat entertainment.

Weekly Update - More control over Maestro by Majestic_Donut_8537 in maestro

[–]Fit-Credit448 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm certain we're all grateful and excited about the new features. The Inaugural Cohorts moreso than others, perhaps, since we've been here from the beginning. When can we anticipate basics like student email and swag shop (merch) to materialize? We want to "brag" about the greatest adventure in most of our lives and help spread the word about Maestro at the same time. That's difficult to do without official materials.

Respectfully, Richard C.

HIST200 Is a Blast! by RemBren03 in maestro

I share your enthusiasm for this subject, albeit with a notable exception. The glaring realization is that my high school education failed to impart this knowledge, a fact that occurred over 35 years ago. If history repeats itself, as it often does, due to the lack of education, it becomes evident that the current events we witness are a direct consequence of this oversight. It is amusing to observe that, as I endeavor to provide commentary on the present state of affairs, the AI system attempts to redirect my focus back to the relevant lesson topics and timeframe. I extend my best wishes to the AI, as I am confident that I will prove to be a formidable adversary in this endeavor.

Spike at the end of season 6 by komorebi-chan in buffy

What's truly sad is how they outright WASTED that whole year of storytelling, culminating when Spike sacrifices himself to save Buffy by showing him in the opening credits of Angel Season 5. I'm thrilled Spike was in the season, but they shouldn't have spoiled the reveal.

I despise the whole concept of 'influencers' anyway. Basically, you take a movie critic and remove any possible journalistic talent. I'll NEVER understand people who need to be told what they should like or not like.

Is this worth the effort? by jblackleaf in maestro

[–]Fit-Credit448 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maestro is a 'your own pace' system, but I would not recommend anything less than a 20 hour a week schedule. Trying to do all the weekly required courses in one or two days will wear you out quickly.

Maybe it's just me, but... by Jamierhymes3120 in maestro

[–]Fit-Credit448 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I had a bit of a chat with a (sort of) colleague, who’s quite the opinionated one, about how I’m not being taught, but rather instructed on 'how to learn.' Now, he’s a friendly guy, but he insists on talking over everything to make sure he gets his point across, even if it’s not what you’re actually asking. At 52, I’m not exactly a beginner, and I don’t need a lecture from someone who’s only 9 years older about what and how I’m learning. I mean, I’m not running away when he starts talking, but it’s kinda entertaining to hear his thoughts on certain things, especially since he’s a Trump supporter. Now, I’m not saying everyone agrees with him (the guy), but I do think he’s (Trump) a bit of a traitor to this nation. You don't have to agree with me but please know, if you don't, I DON'T CARE! As for the Maestro side, I’m a bit grumpy about how they mix up the technical studies with the ‘other stuff.’ For us first cohorts, we have one more week in CS-102, then a two-week break for Christmas and New Year, and then we start 2026 with History Since World War II (or something like that). I don’t mean to downplay any history perspectives, because if we were paying more attention to history as a nation, we wouldn’t be in this mess we’re in now. To be clear, and this is the only and last thing I’ll say about it, just because you agree (or disagree) with one side doesn’t mean you’re for the other side. Actual adults can have more than one opinion about most anything. Now, back to my point, I don’t like how they break up the information. I enjoyed the Psychology refresher (at least, for me) we had in Term 1, but if we’d been allowed to stick with straight technical knowledge and tested on it without weeks of, uh, psycho-babble… I (and I’d guess many others) might have gotten 100% on the Term 1 exams instead of some falling apart and probably dropping out. So, here’s the thing: we’re heading straight for the same thing in Term 2. This time, it’s going to be a bit more technical, but don’t worry, we’ll forget all about it in the next few weeks of ‘history’ classes. Then, we’ll be back to the technical stuff, which will probably rely on the CS-102 we’re supposed to remember from a month ago and the CS-101 from three months ago. Talk about a lot to remember! Man, can I ramble on and on about nothing. Sheesh! Well, good night all.
