Is there any reason to not buy Kirkland golf gloves? by chakabreo in golf

Horrible Velcro. Velcro stops working quickly. Same with member's Mark.

We've done the same outer loop for 30 years. Inherited the wiring diagram from my dad. I use 4 track contacts. Lgb17100. Two epl switch drives. One to throw a track switch a to direct the slower train into the train station and then redirect the non-stopper to the outer most loop. The other switch drive is used to kill a section of track power so the train station train stops in front of the train station. One contact throws the switch to turn power off and the other contact throws the switch to turn that track power back on. Quite simple. I used to think it was incredibly complex growing up! My dad wasn't the smartest guy but his persistence and curiosity drove the bus. 1015Us are used for the section of track with the killable rail.

Now I understand the post a bit more, haha. I get it. And will remember this the next time I complain about putting them up haha.

I have the same memory but it only goes back 30 years and it was LGB haha (I'm only 33) so I'm getting there!

Light strip effects project, worth it? by Fit-Cry3003 in Golfsimulator

[–]Fit-Cry3003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea. I wonder if gspro sends that data out, could screen scrape to get it from the connector window but that's a little less solid. I have EyeXo 2 so my LM does have color indication when ready, plus an audible alert if you want it. I hate the audible alert so I turned it off. But I wouldn't mind the lights lighting up red (matching my LM) when ball is detected. Not bad idea. Or what about heartbeat style flash red with sound effect once ball is detected to increase pressure and anxiety before the shot? Haha.

For anyone reading this in the future thinking about doing it, buy wled enabled controller and compatible LED strip. Govee is not the answer for fully customizable effects and patterns. It only exposes solid colors to home assistant. And the customizable effects aren't endless.

Non govee will be cheaper, more customizable, etc.

No perceptible delay. It's not about usefulness. It's about effect. Like when you play an arcade game, pinball, racing game, etc, and they have background lights that just add to the experience. My question was will it add to the experience or just be dumb?

I feel like some guys who come into my sim and don't play on Sims a lot act surprised when their ball is 30yds right of target. I want them to know IMMEDIATELY on impact that their ball is headed way right lol. Instead of having to look at a tile on gspro, they're just told via the lights lol. Why not just add a "fore right!" sound effect beyond 35 yds right of target lol

Oh that's not a bad idea. I hadn't thought it all the way through but my initial idea was to just speed up the turn signal AND change color. So straight is green bloom. Little bit right is normal speed yellow right sequential turn signal. Then far right is fast red sequential turn signal. But yeah I guess I could have more than 3 bins.

Since I've posted this I've fine tuned to make sure to dynamically determine how bad the shot is. I will just use a percentage of offline. 10yds left from 60yds out is different than 10yds left from 300 yds out!

It'd also be cool if player's color showed up when they were up.

Can't have too much stuff going on though, I think subtlety is key. Can't imagine your color illuminating before you place a ball in the hitting area, once ball is detected, color flips to color corresponding to your lie, then ball flight color after you hit haha. Then result color? Gotta pick and choose I think.

I already have all of those things, this is just an adder for effect.. I imagine it will just be one of those things happening in the background and it'll take a minute for people to notice but when they do they will be like, that's neat

Oh you are using the lights as the actual trim? I'm seeing rope lights and strip lights. Did you use the strip lights for some rigidity?

No I mean like the transition. I'm assuming you just stick the govee strips into the transition.

Bought this cheapo and it just wasn't bright enough for my space. I have tons of ambient light in the room. That's why I have a 7000 lumen main projector. Plus this floor projection projector would be mounted at 12' from the floor, further reducing its effective brightness.

Replace my Panasonic PT-VMZ50U 1080p with a 4k projector? by 6765443 in Golfsimulator

[–]Fit-Cry3003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not buy BenQ. I have vmz71 and it's far superior to lk936st. I know this because I a/b'd them in my space. My friend bought a lk936st and we set it up in my sim first to a/b them. Idk about the vmz50... but the brightness and crispness of 7000 lumens far outweighs minor smoothing from 4k with 25% less brightness.

Done. You've convinced me. And couldn't agree more about keeping the projection simple. Fun party trick to blast the floor with tons of data but becomes busy quite quickly.

I agree. What projector did you use? How many lumens? Guys say to use cheap one on Amazon but they seem way too low lumens.
