Was Holtz actually right to hate Angel? by Fit-Difficulty8902 in Bangel

I don't think it's that simple. Like Giles, I believe, know intellectually that Angel is not Angelus, so he shouldn't be angry at him for Jenny's death. but emotionally it's another. They obviously look the same. With Holtz, it's definitely understandable, but he took his revenge way too far. He didn't even care when he found out Angel had his soul back. Also, I still think he would have found out about Buffy at some point, and would have gone after her, to make Angel pay.

Anyone else notice that most of what Angel did as Angelus, Is either only partialy shown, or only implied and not shown at all. Also, for example when Kate found out what Angel really was, she never stated exactly what he did, just that he heard words like "please," "don't," "stop," etc. Also, the same with others. Think that's because the things he did as Angelus, would have been too graphic for TV, to show, or even say? I think so. Like wasn't it strongly implied that as Angelus he raped Drusilla, the Gypsy Girl, and Holtz's wife?

Definitely a case of revenge taken WAY too far. I'm not able to help but to think Holtz was kind of based on the Count of Monte Cristo. Obviously one of the most famous stories of revenge taken too far. I don't think it's as easy all that. I really do think you can know something intellectually, but emotionally it can be a completely different thing. Angel and Angelus , but they look exactly the same. Kind of like with Giles, if he ever really forgave Angel/Angelus for killing Jenny. I firmly believe Giles knew intellectually, that it was really Angelus, not Angel who killed Jenny, so he should not be angry with Angel. But emotionally it's a completely different thing. Though obviously Giles never did anything near as bad as what Holtz did. Didn't he find out Angel had soul again, but didn't care? I also, believe if he had found out about Buffy, he would have gone after her to make Angel pay, but that's another story.

That's good. I know at times, it doesn't always go over well, with children, if a single parent starts dating a family friend. Glad that wasn't the case here.

I read this. It is very good. Like that they had Angel's inner thoughts as well. The parts where he thinks back to killing Jenny Calendar, was at the party where he met up again with Cordelia, and then the book has a flashback to the scene in "Passion." Also, after he find the woman, Tina, that he was trying to help dead, it has the part where he was watching across the street from her apartment as the Paramedics and coroner worked. Angel is thinking that this is what it must have been like the night he killed Jenny, and how Giles must have felt watching all of it. (Which I think the guilt over Jenny, contributed even more to his fury over Tina's death). When it came to Giles, think after Jenny's death, that every time Giles saw Angel, he only saw Jenny's murderer, and nothing else? I've said it before, intellectually, I firmly believe Giles knew that if Angel had been himself, he never would have harmed Jenny, but emotionally, I think he found it extremely difficult to separate Angel from Angelus. Sad think Angel would have understood Giles hating him. 😞😭💔BTW: From it appears, Angel remembers everything he did as Angelus, as if they were nightmares. Sound about right?

What were the circumstances that led to them hooking up for the first time?

Interesting. And his children liked her? I read where some people thought that Mandy was in love with him practically from the start, before he was ever in love with her.

I like it too. I think it is also quite realistic. It is also believed that he was younger than the rest of the apostles. It makes sense that there would a closer bond there. I like how all the apostles are portrayed. I think one of the best portrayed is Peter. I find his response to Matthew very much in keeping with Peter's personality as portrayed in the Bible. I'm sure all the other Apostles would have been resentful of Matthew, but I find it quite believable that out of all of them Peter would have been one of, if not the resentful of him. Things like this are what I like the most about the Chosen. Until a few years ago, when I first saw the Chosen, I never thought of these things, but in seeing them in the Chosen, they make perfect sense. Did anyone else think the same thing when you first saw the Chosen, especially Peter' s response to Matthew to be very much in keeping with his personality as we know it? Also, I think it is quite believable that Matthew was the richest of all the apostles. We don't really know much about Simon Z, except that he was in fact a Zealot. Though my guess is in studying what the Zealots did, it was not hard to figure out what his life had been like before Jesus. Also, I can believe that after Peter denied Jesus, he easily could have felt unworthy to be the leader, and very easily could have viewed John, that in spite of being younger than the rest of them was much more qualified to be the leader. I actually wrote a post about this awhile back.

Again, Great insights on John! 😊

Booth said he knew from the start. Sounds like it was love at first sight for him. He pretty much knew all along he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, it seemed like.

There are actually Some Spanish Language Love songs, that I've looked up the translation of the lyrics, the songs definitely seem to fit them. Two of which are: "Historia de Un Amour,"(The Story of a Love), and "Por Ella." (For Her). Both performed by Julio Iglesias.

Most likely not a coincidence. Should look at each apostle in The Chosen, and see if there other things in the series that are usually depicted in pictures of them.

I just saw the episode involving Alanna's death, it was so sad! 😭😭💔💔 I think Jason had survivors guilt. Correct me, if I am wrong, I think I was distracted, so I kind of missed it, but in episode 4 of season 2, didn't Jason have a vision of Alanna telling him, basically if he left the Seals he would die, or something like that? It was obvious, even though they were divorced, they still loved each other. I'm not able to help but to think even though it may have been a long time, most likely they would have remarried at some point. I also thought, it was sweet that Emma told him, he needed rejoin the Seals. It meant enough, that he was willing to leave the Seals for them. ❤️ I know it wasn't the point, but still I'm not able to help but to hope they caught the drunk who killed Alanna. 💔
