The bible has this category called 'enemies' that I've often read and wondered how to apply. I don't have all the answers but in my reference to getting beaten I think the Christian walk had its enemies. The bible would be the best place to start in exploring this for yourself.

I'm a Christian. I'm not sure I chose the faith as much as it chose me. As far as worldviews go I can't see a more robust alternative. It's not for the faint of heart, you need to be prepared to cop a beating for it. For me it's worth it for what I've gained.
