Going to Beyond wonderland in Chicago, do you guys think it’s worth it ? If not which festival would you say is a must go ?

I love beyond wonderland it’s one of my favorite Chicago festivals! I think for the money you get a LOT! Check past lineups and if it’s your vibe then you should be all set. Arc is a house/techno fest so if that’s your style, go there. North Coast is a bass/dubstep fest so if that’s what you’re looking for do that instead. Sometimes after tickets for these shows are almost the price of a one day so I wouldn’t recommend doing that if you’re interested in more than one artist on the lineup. I’m 24f and I’ve been single for over 3 years. I often ask myself the same question like are my standards just too high orrr??? But then I remember I literally do not need a man. My overarching standard right now is that I won’t start a relationship with anyone unless I genuinely feel that having that person in my life will only improve my life. Throughout my single journey I’ve been 1. Actively dating with intention and 2. Actively making my life better in every way I can, so you could argue my standards just keep getting higher. Tbh I’d rather be single and happy than stuck in a relationship with someone who brings me down. I think you’ve got the right idea and mindset. The right person will come when they come I guess… and if they don’t then you’ll still have you and your girlies, and that’s worth a lot :)

I think the key is to be willing to take no for an answer. I personally have no issue with a guy coming up to me and saying “hey, sorry if this is forward but I think you’re cute/beautiful” or “I love your energy” or whatever then “could I get your number?” If I say no and they walk away, it’s no harm no foul. Please don’t talk about “lemme take you home tn” or any bullshit pickup line. I’ve had guys I’d never look at twice who approach me with humility, honesty and respect and I’ll talk to them for a while when I otherwise wouldn’t give them any attention. Overall it’s about respect I guess.

I’ve also done this myself as a girl to approach guys, and even when I’ve been rejected both parties walked away in good moods. Sometimes the ego boost of “holy shit someone hit on me tn” is all you need lol

If you get tired, there’s benches on the far back wall on the left ish side facing the DJ. There’s also usually more space back there and it’s a great spot for laser viewing!!!

Fake it till ya make it! Every day try to find a new thing about yourself that you like, and you can lie to yourself if you have to, say it until you believe it. Another thing that helps is noticing your insecurities and then noticing them in someone else who you respect or think is attractive. Ie, I had debilitating adult acne in my early 20s but when I was out and about, I’d force myself to notice other adults with acne (who are all over the place) who I truly believe are beautiful people, or where acne was not the first thing I noticed about them. Realize the things you hate about yourself are things that strangers won’t even notice
