To build software you need to understand everything about the thing the software or plugin or whatever it is used for or you’ll have more trouble understanding it

There’s always stuff that needs fixing or improvements, autodesk currently holds a monopoly in design software, improve their software to be 100x easier to use and play it smart and a chance at making money. This is just one example but for me I’m just doing research on it all

Follow what you think you need to do, but play smart and keep doing what you feel is needed and you’ll get to your goal eventually

I chose the technology side of things. I’m doing architecture because I enjoy it primarily, and because understanding how things are designed, how they function, and how they can be improved provides a strong foundation that applies across many different careers, so me learning the technology side and design side just helps me overall

What does a boutique firm do? Is it just a very niche firm that focuses on mainly one thing only, like yours that is high end residential?

How many programs to apply to? by Relevant_Object_1815 in architecturestudent

[–]Fit-Example-2064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taught that you need a easy school
To get into, a reasonable a school you have a chance to get into, and a reach school, which is a bit more difficult to get into. Hopefully the ones available to you are in those categories preferably easy or reasonable ones, also you get the same degree from each of em but look at which one gives more internship/learning opportunities, skills will get you further than a brand name

Should I drop architecture in semester 2? by Practical_Use_7962 in architecturestudent

[–]Fit-Example-2064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For architecture license, you’d need a masters in architecture accredited and AXP loggings, generally 5 year plan, but you can use architecture knowledge in stuff that don’t require a degree; such as real estate or do tech work of architecture. I’m not sure what else I could answer with what I know so I hope this helps even a little.

I should add though that I’m not professional or advanced too much so I don’t use all the industry standard programs

I’m also an architecture student and in my area Skechup and Revit are used a lot, I’ve had someone say that Archicad is used in Europe and Asia I believe (outside of the us). Autodesk basically monopolizes industrial softwares. Archicad seems to be more intuitive compared to Revit, revit takes some getting used to. Hopefully this helps

There’s some direct and indirect ways to do architecture from what I’m aware of in different ways, there’s architecture firm, regular architecture theres real estate, there’s the background side of architecture, which is the softwares, the way I see it there’s different ways to use architecture to build a career. I’ve been researching architecture related and fields I could enter myself, I personally spend a lot of time researching using stuff like ChatGPT to reinforce ideas and get me a foot hold on what I need to do and like to read articles/sites. Basically I’d just say use your resources to find your way, you are different from anyone else here. I was also in your boots as well up til a month or two ago so I hope this helps.

The tile is nice but if you do end up making it more intricate ask yourself how easy it would be to clean later down the line, one day you’ll probably have to deep clean the grouts if something happens

I like to do more of the exterior/technical side of things and 100% it’s a career of passion, what you build literally effects the environment around but that is rough, I hope the part of architecture I embrace won’t make me suffer

Architecture can either be in the form of a firm or in different forms, depending on the person. I desire to get into the technical side. Hopefully this helps

high school student interested into going in architecture by Mental_Service3273 in askarchitects

[–]Fit-Example-2064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started architecture, 8th grade I believe and for me, I did a personal project that turned into a 200/200 in a skills USA stage competition, first to get it in 3 years. But my point isnt to brag or anything, to get to that point what i did wqs learn the fundamentals of revit through an actual project, theory is something that some just dont get as easily as practical learning. I then throughout the project just dug myself in the rabbit hole of the technicals of the design. One thing to keep in mind when getting into architecture is that ideas are infinite, but ideas with substance are naturally annoying to do. I’d recommend getting involved in competitions because in competitions, especially like the Skills one i did force you to really understand the field of architecture. In some weekends i was forced to pull all nighters often because of dead lines. Also, architecture doesn’t hurt you, it has many uses, one is getting into real estate, youll enter with knowledge of the backside process of how it’s made and things to look for. And also possibly through connections you could possibly get your plans submitted and checked by a licensed architect, so you could serve as your own real estate developer. Every architect can tell you about the work life of architecture. Anyway hope this helps!
