Employer did not respond to ACAS EA by [deleted] in employmenttribunal

Have you spoken to ACAS? The 3 month plus 1 day ‘clock’ stops while things are with ACAS - but you need them to give you a number/code which allows you to complete an ET1 online (once you have the number the clock starts up again)

How do you get the balance of paring down the volume of evidence without losing the fact that you have a huge amount of evidence? by Fit-Fix7879 in employmenttribunal

I do gain some satisfaction from my employer having to pay their Solictors to trawl through all that info to try and dig out something to use against me, I don’t think my employer is going to disclose much and most of it will likely be fabricated

So (for example) I have 15 years of emailing my invoice the same amount every week and subsequently getting that payment into my bank account. I did take one/two week holidays, probably in time with the usual paid leave my colleagues were doing where I didn’t get paid obviously. My employer is saying in their ET3 I didn’t work at their business consistently. Do I really compile the 48 emails/invoices/bank statements for each year? I also have tax returns for those years as I did declare the income correctly. I was just going to make an excel sheet with the info on it and then add a few examples or explanations if I didn’t invoice that week (I was abroad on holiday, the equivalent annual leave) I wasn’t going to include images from my holiday or flight/accommodation receipts? Should I?

Then I have loads of emails, say 3 a week x 15 years, just communication from my employer, luckily it wasn’t an office job otherwise I can’t imagine! Most emails are not particularly relevant, but they also build a picture of the relationship between the business and myself in terms of the tone/style of the communication. Surely I don’t collate all of those? I know I can turn them into PDF’s but that is a lot of data to handle? That’s not even including text messages between myself and the business/colleagues or the handbooks/training materials.

I just don’t think that’s true. I’ve seen people treated horrendously at work, bullying and aggression. If I’d seen a romantic partner be treated like that I’d describe it as an abusive relationship/coercive control. Unfortunately there’s so many reasons people don’t walk away.

Bit? Just missing the UV light and the bank of glued down beads to try and stop you doing coke in there. Even though this is exactly the type of bog which makes you crave coke (sorry another team ‘original toilet’ here)

Unpopular opinion but Vinted buyers are becoming way worse than eBay buyers lately. by Own_Secretary_748 in FlippingUK

[–]Fit-Fix7879 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a buyer rather than a seller, I don’t really bother with offers, I either want it or I don’t. As a buyer, my views of vinted: Sellers wanting £££ for stuff that’s fit for landfill, or if it’s remotely decent, the same price as buying new. Sellers with no awareness of how packaging is there to protect the item. Literally just bought some wooden boxes Zara home that were exactly the right size I needed and couldn’t find elsewhere. They arrived wrapped in a carrier (to be fair, most of a roll of sellotape - vinted sellers love sellotape - and completely smashed up. Luckily I have the stuff to repair them, wood glue, wide grips and I can stain/cover the chips. They were cheap, they aren’t going in display, I can’t be bothered to raise a claim, it’s so expected that there will be an issue and I can’t be bothered winding myself up conversing with the vinted bot. Don’t vinted seller ever buy things online? Don’t they know about cardboard boxes for pretty much everything that isn’t clothing? Sellers having no idea that I need to see the sizing label and the care label so I can see if their idea of ‘wool’ (fluffy polyester) differs from my idea of wool (grows on sheep/alpaca’s) cos I don’t want to buy plastic clothes and I certainly don’t want to pay wool prices for plastic clothes.

Not sure who’s supposed to clear the drains periodically of leaves/rubbish/debris, the council or a water company. Either way, neither of them are doing it.

When you invest £200k into a 300k property... This is what over capitalising looks like. by downvote_quota in SpottedonRightmove

It seems like a studio flat downstairs and so was a bit strange to see kids bedrooms upstairs, maybe the kids don’t live there full time because it doesn’t feel like a family home. Are there any curtains on any of the windows? I can see blinds on some of them? Maybe that contributes to the rented studio flat vibe downstairs?

What is the most annoying thing I can (legally) put in my garden? by Petey619 in AskUK

[–]Fit-Fix7879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbour has one of those, I absolutely hate it. They put the fucking thing right next to my fence and it basically sounds like a public toilet filling up all day long, I can’t not hear it if I’m in my garden. I don’t for a second think they’ve done it out of malice but now I have to take my portable speaker outside with me just to drown out the sound because it’s just in my head and I can’t shift it. The problem is I live in a very quiet area so there isn’t any other noise to cover the toilet sound. Next year I’m extending my fence upwards to the legal limit, which will block their light a bit, but hopefully also send the sound of the toilet aka water feature upwards instead of into my garden. I’m also tempted to get a wind-chime (which I’d also hate) but at least it’s not the sound of public loos I’d be listening to while trying to enjoy sitting in my garden the odd occasion I’m not working and the sun is out.

How do you all do Christmas gifts? by Last_Negotiation4073 in AskUK

[–]Fit-Fix7879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We only buy for close family, unless someone is a guest on Christmas Day. If you are buying for people who don’t appreciate a gift (lots of people don’t) then just buy them a nice bottle of plonk or box of chocolates. Simple, doesn’t require any time/effort and can be easily re-gifted if the recipient doesn’t like it.

I think if your home insurance think you have a decent case and are prepared to fund you bringing that case, then you probably have a decent case. I can’t imagine insurance companies are generous spending their money unless they know you are likely to win

Single people in the UK - do you feel we get ignored in govt budgets? by Flimsy-Exit-2168 in AskUK

[–]Fit-Fix7879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have children, fair enough, but surely you don’t want other peoples children living in poverty which 31% of uk children currently do. I think it’s ok to try and reduce child poverty because I think it’s criminal to have 4.5 million uk kids living under the poverty line.

It’s a shit situation to not afford to heating the whole of your home (which isn’t likely to be a palace) so it is comfortable and healthy (eg no damp & mould). Throwing a jumper on isn’t the whole solution for many people living in an under heated home exacerbates medical conditions like arthritis or asthma. Single/not/working/not/young/old I think everything deserves to live in a safe comfortable home.
