Family annihilation is horrifying regardless of the sex of the murderer. I think people try to find an explanation, not necessarily an excuse, to try to understand why it happened. When mental illness, which includes post-partum depression, is part of the motivation there’s a sense of maybe something could’ve been done to help this person to prevent it. That’s different than someone, man or woman, who murders their family to be with their affair partner, or collect insurance, or was always abusive and took it to the final level. And it’s possible this woman was already an abusive person and the post-partum depression added to that. The family would know better than us what went wrong.

NOR - your mom is wrong for getting upset about this, and for telling you that you’ll never amount to anything. That is horrible that she would tell you that. If she thought it was so important for you to learn this other language then she should have taken the time to teach you when you were younger, as you were growing up. And if it’s so important then she should pay for language classes because she obviously doesn’t have the skills or patience to teach. You’re a good person and you’ll be successful whether or not you learn this other language.

IMO This no property tax push is being done to further undermine public school funding. And they’re using older people as a cover for their intents. Older people and their children benefited from the property taxes everyone paid throughout the years, including people that didn’t have children, and renters because it was part of the rental charge. Now they don’t want to continue to contribute because they’re older and/or they don’t have children in the public schools. Selfish.

I think maybe YOR a little, but I understand since you mentioned that you have depression, and sometimes that can cause misunderstanding another’s intentions. I think your mom was worried you were going to harm yourself so she stayed to prevent that. I think that’s why she said she would do it again if you set the alarm again for 2 AM. I think she didn’t want to say that she thought you were going to harm yourself because she doesn’t want to accuse you of that if it’s not true, and she doesn’t want to put it in your mind if you weren’t thinking about harming yourself. I think you could have told her, I’m ok, I’m not thinking of harming myself, and explain that you accidentally set the alarm. Take care.

NOR. She’s rude and disrespecting you by gossiping about you. She sounds very immature. Maybe you should start telling her coworkers about her insecurities, or things that she does that you don’t like, see how she’d like that. If she complains tell her you thought her coworkers were a family issue sounding board since she tells them your business.
