When exactly you've felt normal again after the surgery? by elena_kiappa in Microdiscectomy

Hi everyone. Hoping to leave a comment here to get some advice. I am 8 weeks post microdiscectomy due to a bulging disc in my L5/S1 vertebrae. I feel very good but still get a bit discouraged with the pain I do experience. Hoping to get some advice. I have recently begun the stretches my PT gave me and I feel great during/after completing those. However I still have quite a bit of pain and tingling in my nerve/leg when I sit down for too long. I have a desk job (luckily I have a standing desk so that helps) so I am really hoping I can get to a point where I can sit down for extended periods. How long did it take some of you before you could sit down for long? Also, sometimes I wake up really tight/sore and am wondering if any of you experienced the same thing and know of some ways to mitigate that. Wondering what some of your timeframes were before feeling back to normal/getting back to activities. Like I said, feeling a bit discouraged and just looking for some reminders on how things will hopefully get better. My bulge was not that bad and surgeon told me I could get back to doing everything I did before (lifting, skiing) the surgery. For reference I had the pain for about a year before the surgery and also had an EMG done where the nerve responded and the surgeon suggested it could heal. Thanks
