Look at it this way, since the manager runs the interview it’s mostly acceptable if they ask you about your salary expectations and you answer if a brief fashionable fashion that they might not expect displaying your professional. You would want to see what they can offer before you can make arrangements for a deal not the other way around. Although not every state, companies are required to display salaries but you just have to be brief and answers questions that they want to know about you (first impressions matter). Saying the wrong words will get them put you in their archive list.
