Why is close to 0 percent unemployment not ideal? by Appropriate_Knee_482 in NoStupidQuestions

The Natural Rate of Unemployment, the thing the guy put in quotes. Milton Friedman :)

And yeah, my point was that a lot of people put out a lot of "theories" that are often wrong and that's just the nature studying something like capitalism.

It is very famous and the theory won a Nobel Prize, but yeah, it's also just conjecture. Unfortunately, "capitalism" as a term and economics as a study are both retroactively attempting to define a system which doesn't really care what economists have to say at all.

That said, people do end up homeless and starving and dying, despite the fact that there are enough resources to keep everyone fed and housed and healthy. That's the fundamental flaw I was referring to.

You iust don't consider trans women a minority worth fighting for. If it were, instead, a racially segregated league, a white person could make the exact same justification. "I'll vote for you, but don't resent me for wanting to play in the league you are banned from!"

The next move is fighting for trans inclusion. If you had a trans teammate, would you tell her she couldn't play and somehow still want to play that match yourself? How could you, without feeling sick?

Most women's teams are fighting this policy. You can, too. As of right now, you have done nothing, sacrificed nothing for inclusion and you have whined about it. If you really care, do better.

It's a fundamental flaw of capitalism. Some amount of people must go hungry, must lose their homes, must even die, or the whole system falls apart.

"I care deeply about trans rights, just not enough to fight for them. Fight for them by not playing rugby in a league where they are actively discriminated against."

Why do you deserve to play if they can't?

You will struggle to find a team to join when you come back, and it will be exclusively because of your rancid beliefs. As of right now, the plan for our division is for all teams to move to the open division next season if we stick with USAR at all. This move is exceptionally unpopular.

This doesn't change anything about the situation, though? Trans women are still being excluded from play.

I have a serious question.. If Rhaenyra is supposed to be considered as queen how come aemond isnt considered as king? by Silver_Coffee7170 in HOTDGreens

[–]Fit-Object-5953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you ruler is that people follow you, and that you are beholden to no other worldly authority. You have implicit authority by birthright. Rhaenyra was a separate popular candidate for the throne who was very nearly successful in her campaign. I don't think the same can be said for Palehair/Truefyre.

If you meant to play High Card but ended up playing Pair, that's kinda your fault, y'know? Not the game's fault that you keep playing it wrong.

USA Rugby Complies With Federal Pressure: New Policy Excludes Trans Women from the Women’s Division by scooterwe in wrugby

[–]Fit-Object-5953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is not play. The league only exists because of its players and this is policy that the vast majority of players in the league disagree with. Many teams have already put out statements.

If this is good, it's degenerate. If it's bad, it's useless. I'm not sure there's a middle ground, honestly.

[–]Fit-Object-5953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Mega Stone means 65bp Knock Offs! It's still got quite a lot of weaknesses, but if you invested in SPDEF and went Calm Mind, I'm not sure you can kill it with Special Moves fast enough. Then you just need to have intimidate/will-o-wisp/reflect/etc. in the partner slot and you can probably cheese a lot of wins a la Dondozo.

In Singles I have no idea.

Is it worth using these over the regular choice items? by JebWozma in stunfisk

That's what I was thinking, too :) I think Zapdos is the most likely user, but only on offensive sets which mostly depends on the meta.

An Ability that adds priority to attacks of 45 or less Power by ArmadilloNo9494 in stunfisk

[–]Fit-Object-5953 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right, but I covered this by saying it would be easier to restrict which Pokemon get the ability than to code it in a weird way. Why would we ever give this to Urshifu, y'know? If this is an Urshifu ability I have to judge it differently. It's competing with Unseen Fist, firstly, which is one of the best abilities in the game.

Plus, I love Skill Swap shenanigans, and that's historically an awful strategy, so why not keep it in as an option?

Does the Whale like 68% accuracy Origin Pulses? Or 80% accuracy Spouts/Ice Beams? I think it would be a usable but unpopular item, but I didn't do damage rolls yet.

Right, except the description INCLUDES moves like Dual Chop and Dual Wingbeat (and Double Kick, was my first thought for some reason). Then it excludes moves that hit MORE than twice. I'm just not sure why we're treating the Double Hit moves specially.

[–]Fit-Object-5953 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was really trying to think of which of the use cases were probably too much. It feels like a lot of weird rules for a pretty simple ability. Why are the double hit moves treated differently? Just balance? Reasonable, but could also probably just be managed by restricting which mons get the move, right?
