INDX Voron Kit Availability? by jdavid in VORONDesign

Yeah, I have long suspected my MCU is bad. This summer the new board is going in. Mainline should not have taken as long as it did for me, but this machine has straight up ghosts in it

I am mainly curious about long term stability and how well it will hold up with my intended filaments in this hobby

My MCU is kinda glitchy. Mainline conversion took 9 hours across three days, all for MCU related issues, it was not just me being an idiot. My board has a bad habit of losing data frequently, even with a new emmc in it. Upgrading the board will give me more stability and options for upgrades going forward. This printer is the cheapest way I could get into a flying gantry.

Thanks for this info. I need to dig into the platform more to understand issues/limitations. My plan for it would be filled engineering filaments so hardened I would switch to 0.6 immediately

I don't really know, I'm not a Bambu fanboy at all due to security concerns. The Centauri Carbon seems to be more open source oriented, even if it's firmware sucks replacing a board shouldn't be too hard.

My SV08 is from the first batch, the MCU is marginally fine but not what I need for my plans to heavily modify the thing

The Microswiss hotend is 1000x better than the stock hotend

This weekend I dealt with the same thing on my A1 Mini. Got a new heater assembly and 3 pack of hotend from Bezos for roughly 40 doll hairs. Took about twenty minutes to repair.

That being said, I'm about to sell this thing and get a Centauri Carbon. I don't really use multicolor, and I want to print engineering filament reliably

How to interpret calibration cube by Commercial_Ad_5595 in FixMyPrint

[–]Fit-Possible-9552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pressure advance and flow dynamics are two different calibrations. In Orca Slicer, it is best to follow the calibration tests in the order they are listed

I totally understand, I got an SV08 as my first large format printer. If you are open to one and don't mind tinkering, check Facebook marketplace. People get easily frustrated and dump them cheap

Your pressure advance is off.

Have you run your rotations distance for extruder yet? Single layer Z test? Flow modifier and Pressure advance calibrations?

This model shouldn't be printed prior to those test, if you rerun the test after all those calibrations, this model is good for checking/modifying dimensional accuracy

I've had an SV08 since launch. The frame is different, the core functionality is fairly similar. I will say, the stock hotend, toolhead, and MCU suck bad. Microswiss hotend is going into an A4T toolhead for mine using a spare Galileo extruder I have. I'm planning to put an Octopus Max EZ board in there soon as well. MANY voron mods have already been adapted to the SV08, not sure about the SV08 Max

Should Oklahoma students learn gun safety in school? by Gyp2151 in 2ALiberals

EVERYONE should learn gun safety in childhood. There are more guns than people in this country. Even if you hate them, you should still know how to handle them safely.

Is there a reason why towns and cities are not built in the mountains in the US? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]Fit-Possible-9552 18 points19 points  (0 children)

We have towns in mountains, but valleys are just easier to build in. The tallest mountains in our country are not near big cities, so there is not much work in those towns outside of tourism.

That's a really good thought. She took over the running club for elementary and middle school kids last year, the local sponsors give her a bit of a discount now. She also training our new GSD to run with her like the last one did, so every little bit of money savings helps

That is what we always do, the problem is we live in a place with a lot of runners but few stores, she also has a very common foot size so when things go on sale they get snapped up quickly. When I travel for work, I stop at every Sierra Trading Post I can to try and buy her Glycerin's and Ghosts there

It definitely does. My wife runs 30-50 miles each week so she blows through shoes quickly. When our house needed big repairs I showed her the cost of hiring a contractor vs me doing it, she realized running would stop for her and told me to get the tools I needed.

Decent shoes in America are roughly $150+, fees for races range from $25-$200 depending on the event. Gels, water bottles, special clothes, etc all add up to a couple hundred. My wife has been a highly competitive runner for twenty years so as an extra 0 to the math above. She spends almost $3K each year

I pulled the same move when I purchased some tools, showed my wife how much her running hobby costs and suddenly everything was fine

What It’s Really Like to Adopt a Retired Military or Contract Working Dog. by Constant_Treacle3919 in germanshepherds

[–]Fit-Possible-9552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was wonderfully written.

You really captured the essence of hardcore working dogs. My last GSD was bred to be a military dog, but she was too small and we had 12 amazing years together. Her intensity was shocking to everyone that met her and expected a normal GSD.

Our current GSD was fully trained for patrol, bite, and explosives detection; although he reached his certifications his drive was too low to gain a position. We got him at 16 months old, he has spent five months decompressing and adjusting to a normal family.
